Role description:

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement Team in The Netherlands and to play a pivotal role in supporting the team with the procurement service delivery to the business stakeholders in an effective and compliant way and in line with Arcadis business values.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration of the contracting and procurement activities for the categories assigned, including lease car contracts, manage the reporting of the business demand and spending for the allocated contracts. You will ensure compliance with the company policies and regulations within your area of responsibility and provide guidance to the internal users on the policies, procurement processes, and use of procurement systems and tools. You will engage on a regular basis with the members of the Procurement team (including the Global Shared Services Centre colleagues), external service providers, business stakeholders, and policy owners. You will embrace continuous improvement principles to optimize the processes and operations within your own area.

Role accountabilities:

Individual Accountabilities:

  • Oversee the implementation and administration of the contracting and procurement activities within the scope assigned, validate third-party service providers’ offers against the contractual terms and the internal policies, ensure compliance, and escalate non-conformities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the third-party service providers, monitor the performance against the pre-defined service level agreements, and report on it to the internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the internal departments, such as Business Areas, Finance, and People functions, and support the alignment of the procurement service delivery in the own area to the organizational goals and strategies.
  • Provide regular and on-demand reporting to the internal stakeholders on the scope managed.
  • Provide guidance and support to the internal stakeholders on procurement processes, systems, tools, and company policies as applicable to the scope managed.
  • Monitor and analyse spending for the contracts assigned, stay informed of the market conditions and the developments, and legal and regulatory requirements for the scope assigned. Inform regularly the internal stakeholders of the market trends and the anticipated impact to allow early intervention for continuous improvement and risk mitigation.

  • Manages relationships through multiple stakeholder channels for executing the assigned scope.
  • Leads the collaboration with cross-functional partners and peers to leverage knowledge, resources, and ensure consistency, and share best practices.
  • Supports the business with training and coaching on procurement processes and procedures.

Owns: Management of the allocated scope.

Influences: Category strategies and procurement plans and strategies for the scope assigned

Vetoes: Activities in own area not in line with the procurement policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in managing third-party service providers, negotiation, stakeholder and supplier relationship management.
  • Understanding of the correlation between market trends, external regulations, compliance requirements, pricing structures, procurement practices, and contract terms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and support informed decisions to optimize and mitigate risks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HBO level of education, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
