As Junior Naval Architect, you will make a positive contribution to the FD Engineering of Royal IHC. Life Cycle Engineering is a design and engineering service activity for operational dredging or offshore vessels. The valued Clients of Royal IHC modify their equipment’s to surge for operational excellence and that’s where IHC’s engineering department is at his best; translating idea’s into reality by sound design and engineering practice. And, within IHC, we turn ideas into physical reality.

From initial idea towards fully commissioned modified equipment; the IHC Life Cycle Engineer can support and take responsibility in any stage of the project for engineering and production scopes.

Within IHC we like to develop the best engineers. The markets we operate in are Offshore, Dredging, Defence and Mining. We come up with solutions that are efficient and sustainable. We abide in technical challenges and create balance between proven technology and innovative solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

  • In this job you are responsible for developing yourself as an engineer and providing the junior skills of an engineer to Royal IHC. We think win-win. You bring your technical- and analytical skills to the table and together with our engineering crew we put them to work. Pick-up the technical challenges that are part of our daily routine and grow. ​
  • Grow in the direction that gives you energy and flow. This can be mechanical oriented, marine systems, naval architecture, structural, electrical, etc. All of this in concept, basic and/or detailed design phase and into manufacturing.
  • You are where you need to be; in the office and in the field.
  • ​​You progress projects; under the leadership of lead engineers, assisted by specialists and colleagues from other disciplines you are delivering value to our clients.
  • You express yourself in technical specifications, in 3D-models and 2D-drawings. You will analyze proposed solutions by calculation sheets, defining load cases.
  • You communicate clearly and take responsibility.

Your Profile:

To be eligible for the position of Engineer Life Cycle Engineering, you must have the following:

  • Technical bachelor or master degree in Naval Architecture.
  • Excellent communication English language skills and preferably but not necessarily Dutch.
  • Eager to continue to learn new things, for a example about the complex technical systems on board of vessels.
  • Can create and overview of design references, evaluate and propose decisions.
  • Has affinity with the maritime world; the world of heavy and complex system engineering.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, creative and flexible attitude.

  • A gross monthly salary between €3151,- and €3893,- +8% holiday allowance (based on a fulltime working week).
