Your job

As a PLC/SCADA Engineer, you will work on the automation and control system of dredging and offshore vessels, including the Mission equipment, Vessel Management Systems, Alarm and Monitoring Systems, and Power Management Systems.

You will be responsible for designing, coding and testing of PLC and SCADA software for monitoring, processing and controlling the systems on board. You will work as part of a project team and be supervised by the Lead Engineer. You are responsible for transforming the Functional Specification into software using standards and libraries used within IHC Systems. In addition, your work will involve drawing up Design Specifications in addition to the Functional Specification. You will also set up the overall system configuration and testing the software using a simulator. Part of your role may involve working on board of the vessel during installation and handover to the customer.

To be eligible for the role of PLC/SCADA Engineer, you must have the following:

  • An ability to think and work at a higher professional (HBO) level.
  • Demonstrable experience with and/or affinity for measuring and control technology, and process automation.
  • Experience with designing, programming and coding PLCs (Rockwell/ Bachmann) and knowledge of SCADA (Cimplicity or Atvise).
  • Knowledge of process management systems.
  • The ability to read Functional Specifications and drawings (electric, pneumatic and hydraulic).
  • The idea of working in project teams appeals to you.
  • Analytical ability and can show initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
