Business Development Executive

We are looking for a commercial superstar to become our new colleague in Amsterdam to fill the position of Business Development Executive. Special focus lies on working with our lawyers on pitches, preparing for client meetings and presentations and leading ad-hoc commercial projects.

This position is integral to the wider function across Benelux. In Amsterdam, the team consisting of 4 people provides support in a broad range of areas like winning work, internal and external communications, marketing, client relationship management, brand & creative, events and digital.

The Business Development Executive reports to the Benelux Business Development Manager who is located in Amsterdam. You will also work in close cooperation with our international MBD teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Project management and seamless execution of transactional and strategic pitches; draft, create, review and edit content; ensure adherence to branding requirements; ensure adherence to pricing procedures
  • Act as the Business Development lead on Dutch key client and practice initiatives
  • Assist with external and internal communication (ranging from social media, publications, press releases and deal announcements to internal reporting and maintaining databases)
  • Maintain awareness of relevant global and local marketing products and Business Development initiatives which can be used for client development and dialogue locally

Your profile

This role operates in an ambitious and high standard environment and that is something that attracts you. Experience in or a strong affinity with a corporate environment and experience in writing business proposals and preparing for client meetings is essential.

You are engaging, persuasive and assertive. You also are a strong communicator, creative and service-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Your strong people skills, sense of responsibility and ability to gain trust enthuses people to follow your lead. The idea of managing many different projects simultaneously excites you, you are organised and you know how to stand your ground in a diplomatic manor without losing eye for detail and meeting deadlines.

Last but not least, you have a good dose of humor and you are able to put things in perspective.

Requirements

  • Fluent in Dutch and English; excellent written communication and free text drafting skills; accurate spelling and proof-reading skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar position
  • Absolute attention to detail
  • A self-starter; confident and resilient attitude
  • Proactive, able to work with multiple tight deadlines simultaneously; ability to build credibility among stakeholders at all levels
  • Creativity, reliability and flexibility; a strong work ethic with the desire to make the most of this career opportunity
