Job description

As a Data Governance Intern at Bynder, you will play a vital role in supporting our data governance initiatives and ensuring the integrity, availability, and usability of our organizational data. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, while also honing your SQL skills for effective data management.

What you will do:

Data Profiling and Analysis:

• Conduct thorough analysis of existing data sets to identify inconsistencies, errors, and gaps.
• Collaborate with team members to understand data quality requirements and reduce gaps between teams.

Data Cleansing and Enrichment:

• Work on data cleansing initiatives to rectify identified data quality issues.
• Assist in enriching datasets with relevant information to enhance overall data quality.

SQL Database Querying:

• Utilize SQL skills to query and analyze databases for data profiling and governance purposes.
• Assist in developing and maintaining SQL queries to support data governance activities.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Document data quality rules, standards, and procedures.
• Generate regular reports on data quality metrics and present findings to the team.

Data Governance Alignment:

• Ensure alignment of data quality initiatives with established data governance policies and principles.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of data governance frameworks.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data usage and requirements.
• Communicate effectively with team members to address data quality concerns and provide recommendations.

Who Are You?

• You're fluent in English
• You are currently enrolled in a Dutch / European university in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• You're available for an internship of least 6 months starting March / April 2024
• You live in or close to Amsterdam
• You're easy in building good working relationships
• Your communication skills shine through
• You have strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• You have beginner to intermediate proficiency in SQL
• You possess basic understanding of databases and data structures (data quality tools and methodologies is a plus)
