The department is organised into eight different Product Lines.

Dredging & Infrastructure -Maintenance

Maintenance dredging is also rooted in Van Oord’s legacy. It’s where the company built its name, and continues to deliver reliable results worldwide. This Product Line focuses on keeping waterways, harbours, and shipping routes navigable and preserving coastlines through beach nourishments. The work is essential, recurring, and fast-paced. We work on projects like Mumbai Maintenance, Liverpool Channel, the Elbe River and the Kustlijnzorg projects in the Netherlands. Crucial for protection, global logistics and trade. Our equipment includes trailing suction hopper dredgers and water injection dredgers. Ideal for rapid, efficient, and targeted sediment removal. This Product Line encourages engineers to realise quick optimisations of the tender process through data-driven improvements. Engineers in this domain focus on precision dredging, operational excellence, and cost-effective delivery.

Dredging & Infrastructure - Infra Marine

Infra marine brings ingenuity to marine infrastructure projects like port development and breakwaters. When everything comes together: vessels, technical designs, and stakeholder coordination, we achieve great results. Projects are often hybrid: technical, logistical, and people-driven. You’ll work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, learning to bridge perspectives and solve problems in complex, ever-changing conditions. The work involves iconic projects such as Wilhelmshaven, Constanta and Umm Suqeim. Each requiring mastery over heavy-duty equipment like crane barges and excavators. We value diversity, collaboration, and strong involvement in the execution of projects. This is a Product Line where teamwork and coordination are as important as engineering brilliance.

Dredging & Infrastructure - Infra land

Infra land is where engineers step into complex environments and truly make a difference. Focussed on building inland flood defences and reservoirs, we work in areas where infrastructure must blend with society, and success depends on aligning a wide range of stakeholders. From municipalities to residents and contractors, you’ll collaborate across disciplines and interests. These multifunctional landscapes challenge us to think holistically, act responsibly, and continuously improve how we work. We invest in zero-emission equipment and smarter ways of working that reduce impact while delivering top-tier results. You’ll work on impactful projects such as de Afsluitdijk, Tiel-Waardenburg, Sterke Lekdijk, ViA15 and IJsselmeer dijken, using equipment like barges, cranes, and excavators. A variety of expertise is combined to shape sustainable infrastructure in challenging, dynamic conditions. If you’re ready to take ownership, work closely with diverse teams, and grow your skills in one of the most socially embedded Product Lines, Infra land offers a fulfilling, future-forward engineering journey.

Dredging & Infrastructure - Capital

Capital dredging is a Product Line where Van Oord’s legacy meets its future. This Product Line creates new land, expands ports and improves waterways. These are high-impact projects you can literally see on Google Maps. We work on signature projects like Malmporten, Suape and Walvis Bay. Each with unique geotechnical and environmental challenges. Our dredging assets include trailing suction hopper dredgers, cutter suction dredgers, and backhoe dredgers. Powerful tools used to shape land and water across the globe. We combine our knowledge of the fleet with deep engineering expertise. We operate in dynamic, high-stakes environments where precision and planning are key. As an engineer here, you’ll master complex forces of nature while contributing to iconic global projects. Capital is a place to build something that lasts. For the business, for the planet, and for yourself.
