As Payroll Manager, you will join our international Payroll team within Finance and help ensure that colleagues across our organisation are paid accurately, on time and in line with local legislation. You will work in a team of 27 payroll professionals, with 9 team members based in Amsterdam, and collaborate closely with HR, Finance, external payroll providers and internal control teams. In this role, you will take ownership of payroll processing and coordination for several countries in an international environment with many stakeholders.

Your work will combine operational payroll expertise with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will review payroll input and output, resolve discrepancies, and help ensure that payroll data, reporting, and controls are accurate and complete. At the same time, you will look for smarter ways of working and support improvements that make payroll more efficient and scalable. In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and review payroll processing for multiple countries together with external payroll providers.
- Ensure payrolls are processed accurately, on time and in compliance with local payroll, tax and social security regulations.
- Review payroll data, reports, statutory deductions, and payroll output before final approval.
- Act as a key contact for HR, Finance, payroll providers and internal control teams.
- Analyse payroll issues, identify root causes, and advise stakeholders on practical solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement across payroll processes by identifying opportunities for automation, AI, digitalisation and smarter ways of working.

We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who feels at home in a dynamic, international environment. You bring strong payroll knowledge, a sharp eye for detail, and the confidence to work with different stakeholders across functions and countries. You know how to explain complex topics in a clear and practical way, while staying focused on compliance, quality, and deadlines. Alongside your operational expertise, you bring a proactive mindset and enjoy improving processes and strengthening ways of working. You take ownership, work in a structured way and are comfortable balancing hands-on execution with stakeholder coordination.
Furthermore you
- Have at least 8 years of payroll experience, preferably in an international or fast-growing environment.
- Have a strong knowledge of payroll processes, payroll legislation, laws and regulations.
- Are fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbal, due to the markets you work on!
- Have strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, and can work effectively with HR, Finance, vendors, and internal control teams.
- You know your way around Journal entries, accounting(!) and reconciliations.
- Have experience with Excel and payroll systems; knowledge of Workday is a plus.
