Incident Analyst

Turn safety data into insights that make a real difference. As Incident Analyst, you help Van Oord learn from incidents and prevent them from happening again. The position

As Incident Analyst within QHSE, you help Van Oord continuously improve its safety performance. You review and analyze incidents, observations, unsafe conditions and unsafe acts across the organization. You support investigations and help teams identify root causes and effective corrective actions. You also make sure valuable lessons are captured and shared. By combining safety knowledge with data, you provide insights that support operational excellence, compliance and risk reduction. Your work gives teams the information they need to improve.

Your impact

Your analysis helps us understand what happened, why it happened and what we can do differently. You monitor investigations and actions while keeping an eye on recurring issues and emerging risks. With clear dashboards and reports, you make complex QHSE information easier to understand. This helps colleagues act with confidence and strengthens our safety culture. Your key responsibilities include:

• Administering and maintaining the incident reporting and investigation system.
• Reviewing incident reports for completeness, quality and consistency and ensuring correct classification.
• Monitoring investigations and following up on overdue corrective actions.
• Analyzing incident and HSE performance data to identify trends, recurring issues and emerging risks.
• Maintaining dashboards, KPI reports and monthly, quarterly and annual QHSE performance reports and providing recommendations based on your findings.

About you

You enjoy finding the story behind the data and can look critically at information without losing sight of the people and operations behind it. You work accurately, communicate clearly and know how to turn findings into useful recommendations. You can work with different stakeholders and approach problems with an analytical mindset. For this role, you bring:

• Three to seven years of experience in QHSE, safety, risk management, marine, offshore, industrial, construction or energy environments.
• Experience with QHSE reporting systems, databases and incident management software.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Office 365.
• Good command of the Dutch and English language.
