Illness Manager Head Office

Share your talents

As Illness Manager, you will play a key role in helping Head Office employees in Amsterdam stay healthy, engaged and able to perform at their best. You will act as the central point of coordination for workability and absence-related cases, ensuring employees and managers receive the right support at the right time.

In this role, you combine operational case coordination with strategic improvement. You will triage absence and workability cases, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, advise managers throughout the employee journey and help create sustainable return-to-work solutions. At the same time, you continuously identify opportunities to improve absence processes, systems and reporting, using data and insights to strengthen the health and wellbeing approach.

Working closely with HR Advisory, COE’s, People Managers, Occupational Health providers and external specialists, you ensure a consistent, compliant and people-centered approach while balancing employee wellbeing with business needs. As the Health Manager for the Head Office population, you will have the opportunity to shape how Rituals approaches workability, prevention and sustainable employability in a fast-growing international organization.

Together, we create a healthy working environment where people can thrive and continue to grow with heart and soul.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and triage workability and absence cases for the Head Office population in Amsterdam.
  • Analyse absence trends and translate data into actionable insights, reporting and recommendations for HR and business leaders.
  • Continuously improve absence processes, systems and manager guidance to create a seamless employee experience.
  • Advise managers and employees throughout the absence and reintegration process, helping them navigate policies, procedures and available support.
  • Act as the primary liaison between employees, managers, HR Advisory, Occupational Health providers and external specialists.
  • Drive early intervention to prevent long-term absence and support sustainable employability.
  • Support complex reintegration cases by aligning the Case Manager, Occupational Health Physician and employee.
  • Contribute to health, wellbeing and prevention initiatives that strengthen workability across Head Office.
  • Build strong partnerships across HR and the wider business to promote a proactive and preventative approach towards employee health.

Bring all of you

You enjoy combining people-focused conversations with process improvement and analytical thinking. You know how to navigate sensitive situations with empathy while remaining objective and solution-oriented. You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly and every case requires thoughtful judgement.

You naturally connect stakeholders, ask the right questions and look beyond the immediate issue to identify sustainable solutions. You enjoy taking ownership, building trust with managers and employees, and collaborating with a wide range of internal and external partners. At the same time, you are driven to improve processes, use data to identify trends and continuously enhance the way employee health and workability are supported.

You thrive in a role where no two days are the same. One moment you are advising on a complex reintegration case, the next you are identifying trends in absence data or improving a process that will positively impact employees across the organization.

To be successful in this role, you:

  • Have 4–7 years of experience in workability, absence management, occupational health, case management or a related HR field.
  • Have experience advising managers and employees on absence, reintegration and workability-related topics.
  • Have a good understanding of Dutch employment legislation related to absence and reintegration (Wet verbetering poortwachter).
  • Are experienced in coordinating multiple stakeholders while maintaining ownership of complex cases.
  • Have strong analytical skills and enjoy translating data into meaningful insights and practical recommendations.
  • Are proactive and continuously look for opportunities to improve processes, systems and the overall employee experience.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. Dutch is considered a strong advantage.
  • Bring empathy, resilience and sound judgement when handling sensitive situations.

We believe in the value of in-person collaboration and teamwork. Therefore, we work predominantly from the office.
