As a Business Analyst at ASN Bank in Utrecht, you are responsible for bridging the gap between business requirements and the technical implementation of the bank's critical risk models.

As a Business Analyst, you will be at the heart of the bank's risk model infrastructure, acting as the crucial link between business and data. You will translate complex business needs into actionable technical solutions, ensuring that data quality, stakeholder alignment and seamless delivery are always at the forefront of everything you do.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with model owners, risk modelling teams, and technical data and implementation teams to deeply understand business needs and translate them into clear, actionable technical specifications for the bank's risk models.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment by visualizing and tracking dependencies, supporting senior leadership in planning and prioritization, and coordinating cross-team commitments to ensure seamless and timely delivery.
  • Perform technical tests and independent data quality analyses within the Data Warehouse, validating and interpreting complex datasets to verify the correct implementation of requirements across the risk model infrastructure.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying risks, documenting processes and contributing to initiatives that enhance the overall reliability, efficiency and performance of the bank's risk model infrastructure.

This is where you'll work

Data & Stress Tests Modelling department within risk domain. You will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the technical and data infrastructure that supports the bank's credit risk models. The role involves regular stakeholder engagement, requirement gathering, and translating these into actionable technical specifications. Progress and status are tracked through agile project management tools and regular team meetings.

Your qualities

You are an analytically strong and communicatively skilled professional who effortlessly bridges the gap between business and technology. You take a proactive approach, think in solutions and know how to structure complex issues and communicate them clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.

You also have:

  • Academic (WO) degree in a quantitative or analytical field, such as Econometrics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, combined with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience within the financial sector.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a data-driven environment, with a strong ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications, bridging the gap between risk modelling teams and technical data and implementation teams.
  • Solid understanding of credit risk model concepts such as PD, LGD and EAD, enabling you to have meaningful and substantive conversations with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and data warehouse environments, with the ability to independently conduct data quality analyses, validate complex datasets, and troubleshoot data issues within a large-scale financial data infrastructure.
  • Experience working in an agile setting, with practical knowledge of tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow, and a proven track record of managing dependencies, tracking progress, and coordinating cross-team deliveries in a structured and transparent way.
