Work on projects that shape the future of the Netherlands. From stronger dikes to smarter roads and nature development, your work has real impact. You learn from experienced colleagues, take on responsibility from day one and grow in a team that trusts you. Together we build infrastructure that lasts for generations.

The position

As a Junior Project Engineer within the Infra Land product line in Tendering & Engineering, you help prepare complex infrastructure projects from the first tender until execution. You work on projects where land and water come together and where smart planning makes the difference. Together with engineers, planners and project teams you translate ideas into practical and achievable solutions. You learn how to balance technical quality, safety, sustainability and efficiency. Every day gives you the opportunity to develop your knowledge while contributing to projects that improve the living environment. Your work leads directly to the impact you make.

Your impact

You help create a solid foundation for successful project delivery. With your technical insight and structured way of working you support colleagues in making the right decisions before work starts. Together you help deliver projects safely, efficiently and sustainably.

  • Develop execution methods and phasing plans and translate project requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Support the preparation of earthworks including logistics, permits, soil balance and requirements verification.
  • Contribute to planning, work plans and technical documentation for tenders and projects.
  • Work closely with colleagues, clients and partners to keep preparation on schedule and aligned.

You work in an integrated project team and report to the Technical Manager or the Head of Work Preparation. You contribute to projects such as highways, bridges, locks, flood protection works, nature development and river improvement projects.

Your workplace

You become part of a close team of six to ten colleagues with different technical backgrounds. Depending on the project, the team expands with partners and specialists. Everyone is approachable and willing to help. You quickly become part of the team and receive guidance from experienced colleagues while building your own expertise.

At Van Oord we believe great projects are built together. We trust each other, share knowledge openly and give you the freedom to grow. Your ideas matter and your contribution helps create a safer and more sustainable future.

About you

You enjoy solving technical challenges and like working together to achieve the best result. You communicate clearly, stay organised and are eager to learn. You take ownership of your work and are motivated to contribute to projects that make a lasting difference.

  • A completed HBO degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable technical programme.
  • Willingness to work at project locations across the Netherlands and occasionally travel abroad.
