Job opportunity description
The current vacancy is with Unit Energy Efficiency and Renewables of the Directorate for Energy, Mobility and Climate. The Unit’s mission is to support the deployment of renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency measures, and city climate action.
In particular, the Unit provides support in the implementation of key EU initiatives that require the availability of detailed energy-related information on buildings across the European Union.
The jobholder will conduct cutting-edge scientific research to create a European-scale digital twin of the building stock. The aim is to provide detailed, geo-localised data needed to underpin energy-related policies and affordable-housing initiatives, moving beyond coarse statistical approaches.
