The Technology department at our Veghel site is working on improving the reliability of our production processes. Fouling in whey pasteurizers limits run times and affects production continuity. This internship is a continuation of ongoing work to understand fouling behaviour, moving from characterization to solutions. You will design and execute experiments in a live production environment, analyse process data, and translate findings into practical recommendations.

You will be part of the Technology team at Veghel, building on earlier fouling research. Your assignment is to identify effective mitigation strategies and validate them in practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Literature review on fouling and mitigation approaches in food processing.
  • Formulating and testing hypotheses through plant trials, such as temperature profile, flow velocity, chemical dosing, and feed pre-treatment.
  • Analysing fouling data from pressure monitoring and CIP records to evaluate interventions.
  • Delivering a clear set of recommendations for operations, backed by data.

What we ask

  • MSc student in Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, or similar.
  • Affinity with production as well as experimental design and data analysis.
  • Independent, communicative, and comfortable in a production environment.
  • Proficient in Dutch or English.

  • You will earn 1 vacation day per month based on a full-time internship.
  • Internship compensation of €500 for HBO and €600 for WO level on a full-time basis.
