Job opportunity description

The current vacancy is in the Directorate Ispra Site Management, Nuclear Decommissioning and Waste Management, located at the Ispra site in Italy, which is the third biggest Commission site and hosts two thirds of the JRC staff.

The Directorate’s mission is to decommission the historical nuclear facilities at the Ispra site and to dispose of the related radioactive waste, complying with the host Member State’s nuclear legislation and regulations.

The selected candidate will join the team in charge of the nuclear licensing and material management necessary for the preparation and execution of each project of the D&WM Programme. The licenses concerned cover many areas of the nuclear cycle, from research reactors and laboratories under decommissioning, to nuclear waste treatment, conditioning and storage.
