The Joint Research Centre (JRC) provides independent, evidence-based knowledge and science, supporting EU policies to positively impact society.

The current vacancy is within Unit JRC.D.4 “Economics of Food Systems” of Directorate JRC.D “Sustainable Resources”. The Unit’s work focuses on the socio-economic analysis of agricultural, environmental, climate change, and trade policies in the EU, the further development of the European green and competitive economy, as well as food security and related policies in third countries. The policy support provided by our Unit is grounded in quantitative economic research, drawing in particular on agro-economic modelling tools and advanced statistical and econometric techniques. The Unit has access to unique and high-value datasets, including large-scale agricultural, environmental, micro- and macroeconomic data, which constitute a key asset for advanced machine learning, statistical modelling, and AI applications in support of policy analysis.
