The position

As a HSE Coordinator Subsea Rock Installation (SRI) at Van Oord, you will work with the project teams in the Van Oord office in Gorinchem to help ensure each project is performed safely and successfully.

Your role involves balancing the needs of stakeholders, providing guidance, and maintaining a safety-first culture. You are creative in developing solutions that are both efficient and safe.

Your impact

  • Constantly improving safety awareness and the safety culture within projects, while encouraging project management to take responsibility
  • Ensuring that safety policies, objectives, procedures, and plans are effectively set up, communicated, and followed by all project members and subcontractors
  • Reporting on safety performance to management, addressing audit and inspection findings, and taking action to prevent recurrence
  • Maintaining strong communication and collaboration with supervisors, the client, third parties, and the QHSE department
  • Managing the project HSE team may be part of your role depending on experience; employees are encouraged to continue to develop and learn

These responsibilities collectively contribute to a comprehensive HSE management approach within the SRI projects.

About you

  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about HSE, with a desire to make an impact on safety
  • Able to communicate in a positive and engaging manner, with a focus on cooperation and overall project goals
  • A team player with strong people management skills
  • Flexible and willing to regularly travel for up to one week to support projects and vessels
  • At least 1 year of experience in a coordination role, ideally involving project preparation and execution; experience in a similar position is a plus
  • Proficient in English and willing to gain deeper experience within HSE and different projects

We offer

You will work on international projects that challenge and inspire you, and give you the opportunity to create lasting impact together with colleagues around the world.
