The current vacancy is at the JRC Centre for Advanced Studies, which is located in the Directorate for Innovation in Science and Policymaking. The mission of the Directorate is to support the scientific and organisational development of the JRC to better support EU policymaking and democracy through scientific knowledge, foresight, evaluation and engagement with citizens. In particular, the role of the CAS is to incubate novel ideas within the JRC through different programmes.
In particular, the CAS is launching the three-year project Gene-Tune (Tuning gene expression for the future of medicine: next generation gene and cell therapies) through its Advanced & Interdisciplinary Research Programme (AIR). Gene-Tune is a forward-looking project in the field of advanced biotechnologies, leveraging (epi)genome editing tools as innovative medical treatments.
