As an HR Operations Intern, you will play an important role in supporting our People & Culture team for the Netherlands. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR operations in the Netherlands while contributing to process improvements, documentation, and internal communications. You’ll be helping us ensure smooth operations and an excellent employee experience across our teams.

What you will do

  • Supporting sickness management initiatives by gathering data on best practices, helping create trainings and guidelines, and aligning with local frameworks;
  • Assisting in payroll preparation processes, contributing to a smooth and 100% correct payroll
  • Assisting in reviewing and optimising People & Culture processes in the Netherlands, ensuring alignment with global standards and identifying efficiency opportunities;
  • Assisting with Collective Labor Agreement (CLA) updates, including internal communication around changes;
  • Creating clear and user-friendly manuals, infosheets, and FAQs, to support employees (e.g., payslip explanations or user guides);
  • Developing templates and documentation to support consistency across HR operations;
  • Researching and sharing HR best practices to continuously improve our ways of working;
  • Reviewing and updating documents to ensure inclusive and accessible language across all People & Culture materials.
  • Keeping our People & Culture intranet up to date by mapping, cleaning, and improving content;

The gear you need

  • Currently studying or having a Bachelor's degree in a Human Resources-related field;
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours);
  • Ready to start in the beginning of June/July for 3-6 months;
  • You are detail-oriented and organised;
  • You have an inclusive mindset;
  • Fluent in English. Dutch is a plus;
  • Living in the Amsterdam area or willing to commute (please note that Swapfiets does not offer travel compensation for interns);
  • Eager to get your hands dirty; after all, our core business is swapping bikes!
