About Ahold Delhaize
We’re Ahold Delhaize, one of the world’s largest food retail groups. Together with our seventeen strong local retail brands in Europe, the United States, and Indonesia, we share a passion for delivering great food, value and innovations. By bringing ideas to the table and acting on them, you help create a healthier tomorrow. Together, we make better choices accessible for millions of people every day.
Technology Business Management (TBM) is a critical capability that enables organizations to understand, govern, and maximize the value of their technology investments. By providing transparency into technology costs, consumption, and value drivers, TBM supports better decision-making, stronger financial discipline, and a more outcome-focused dialogue between technology, finance, and the business.
As we are on a mission to become the most customer-centric and AI-enabled retailer in Europe, technology plays an increasingly central role in delivering differentiation, speed, and scale. Achieving this ambition requires that we optimize and maximize the impact of every euro invested in technology. A strong, mature TBM capability is a key enabler to achieve this — ensuring that technology investments are transparent, aligned to business priorities, and continuously optimized.
The European TBM Lead is accountable for designing, building, and scaling the Technology Business Management (TBM) capability across Europe, enabling transparency, cost insight, and value-based decision-making for technology investments.
The role reports into the EU CTO Office and operates at a strategic and cross-functional level, working closely with European Business Technology (EBT) Technology Controllers, senior technology leaders, and finance stakeholders. The TBM capability is powered by Apptio, which we recently implemented.
The TBM Lead works in close partnership with a TBM Admin / Specialist within the EU CTO Office and serves as the senior functional owner and capability lead for TBM in Europe.
Key focus areas of your role:
TBM Strategy & Capability Ownership
Own the end-to-end European TBM capability, including strategy, governance, operating model, and roadmap, while acting as the functional owner for TBM and Apptio with accountability for business outcomes and value realization. Translate Group TBM principles into scalable European standards and ensure TBM becomes a core driver of portfolio, financial, and enterprise decision-making.
Apptio Implementation & Platform Leadership
Lead the European implementation and adoption of Apptio in collaboration with Group TBM, implementation partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring robust cost models, allocation logic, and data transparency across platforms and products. Drive alignment between European and Group Apptio architectures while providing strategic direction and prioritization for TBM platform resources.
TBM Taxonomy, Model & Data Governance
Ensure consistent application of the TBM taxonomy, cost models, allocation rules, and data structures across Europe while governing data integrity and transparency. Drive continuous improvement in data quality and auditability to ensure TBM outputs are scalable, trusted, and decision-grade.
TBM Use Case & Value Realization
Define and scale high-impact TBM use cases that drive cost transparency, optimization, and value-based decision-making across planning, portfolio governance, and operations. Track adoption and business impact while embedding TBM insights into enterprise processes to shift the organization from cost visibility to outcome-driven optimization.
TBM Operating Model & Office Leadership
Define and evolve the European TBM operating model, clarifying roles, responsibilities, and ways of working across all TBM functions. Build and scale TBM capability maturity over time while ensuring TBM operates as a sustainable management capability embedded in decision-making, not just a reporting function.
