About the Role

The Site MS&T Head leads the Site’s MS&T organization, which is responsible for maintaining and improving the scientific oversight of manufacturing processes and technical changes, the relevant technical knowledge and capabilities at the site, and ensuring product and technical stewardship across process units and functions at the site.

Major accountabilities:

  • Set objectives and develop the vision for the department.
  • Act as Site Point Of Contact (SPOC) for the site head and MS&T platform/cluster head.
  • Manage the MS&T career path, succession planning, training program and career progression within the site.
  • Enable knowledge management for processes and products within the department and across site functions.
  • Work with other Site MS&T teams and networks of the relevant platform/cluster, driving reapplication of standard work processes and best practices.
  • Ensure that quality and compliance improvement and savings opportunities implemented locally are rapidly re-applied globally.
  • Ensure robust product stewardship for all products manufactured at the site, and end-to-end technical oversight of product manufacturing processes at all stages of their commercial lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all products, processes and unit operations are assigned to a product steward, technical steward, process expert or packaging expert.
  • Ensure oversight of technical changes and lead end-to-end change control management related to relevant technical issues, working cross-functionally as required.
  • Ensure all manufacturing, packaging and cleaning processes are validated and ongoing verification is implemented, so that all site products remain in a constant state of validation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Be accountable for technical transfer activities into, within and out of the site.
  • Support excellence in manufacturing through standard setting and technical capability development and deployment.

Essential requirements:

  • Master Degree in scientific disciplines.
  • Previous solid experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Proven people management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of GMP processes, analytical methods validation and tech transfer.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Demonstrate an agile mindset by setting clear priorities, collaborating openly, and using feedback to make step-by-step improvements, reflecting the core elements of Agile culture within the Dutch organization.
