You will work in the Shared Ops team, where strategy and design meet increasingly automated solutions that really work in practice. As a student, you’ll help shape how data and dashboards are used to make ING safer, stronger and more resilient.

What impact will you make?

As a Data Analyst & Power BI Intern, you will support the team in the implementation of automated, data-driven dashboards within the SoX Mortgages team and Service Managers in the Risk Evaluation Meeting report automation.

You will work closely with risk, control and business stakeholders to translate the controls reporting and monitoring needs into automated Power BI solutions, embedding automation and AI where possible.

This internship is ideal for a Master student or final-year Bachelor student with a strong interest in data analytics, visualisation and automation in a regulated environment.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with end-to-end dashboard implementation in a regulated banking environment, where your work directly supports assurance, audit readiness and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of automated Power BI dashboards for SoX monitoring and reporting and Risk Evaluation Meeting reporting for the business
  • Analyse and structure control and risk data from the sources
  • Help translate business requirements into clear data models, KPIs and visuals in the dashboard
  • Improve data quality, consistency and lineage used in dashboards
  • Support automation initiatives (e.g. reducing manual reporting efforts) using Power Suites or AI
  • Document dashboards, data definitions and assumptions in a clear way
  • Collaborate with business, risk and control colleagues

Your Profile

  • Enrolled in a Master’s programme or final year of Bachelor (e.g. Data Analytics, Data Science, Econometrics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Finance with strong data focus or related field)
  • Strong skills in Power BI (DAX, data modelling, visual design, Power Suites in Power Apps / Power Automate, SharePoint or Canvas Apps for operational process automation)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good understanding of data analysis and data structures
  • Experience with MS Excel, Macros, VBA, SQL (for automation and data preparation)
  • Analytical mindset & attention to detail
  • Creative / problem-solving mindset – finding smarter, automated ways to execute controls
  • Team player – supports team initiatives and collaborates well with others
  • Structured way of working – able to manage tasks, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Interest in risk, controls, governance or compliance is a strong advantage
  • Fluent in English
