Drive data strategy execution via strong program management, connecting teams, governance and leadership for predictable, value-driven delivery.

Job Description

As Business Owner within the central Data & Analytics department, you play a key role in translating the data strategy into reliable execution. Your focus is not on content ownership of data products, but on program management, delivery orchestration, and growing the maturity of the IT delivery capability across Data & Analytics and IT teams. You are hands-on, help teams resolve impediments, and drive commitments and results.

You work closely with the Chief Data Officer (CDO), the full CTO Management Team of which the CDO is part, the other domain Business Owners, and Product Owners in both Data and IT to ensure initiatives are delivered in a predictable, transparent, and value-driven manner. A key part of the role is owning and steering the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process and enabling effective portfolio-level decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Results Ownership

  • Steer end-to-end execution of the Data & Analytics strategy with a strong bias for delivery, commitments, and outcomes.
  • Actively remove impediments for teams by intervening where delivery is at risk, including scope, dependencies, resources, and decision deadlocks.
  • Drive predictable delivery through strong programme management, realistic planning, and disciplined follow-up.
  • Hold teams accountable for commitments, milestones, and delivery quality.

Program & Portfolio Management Excellence

  • Own and orchestrate cross-team, cross-domain delivery across Data & Analytics and IT.
  • Lead the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process end-to-end for Data & Analytics.

Strategic Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Act as a trusted, reliable partner to the CDO in driving execution and decision-making.
  • Communicate clearly and credibly at operational, tactical, and executive level.
  • Proactively manage expectations, dependencies, and escalation paths.
  • Translate complex delivery realities into clear, actionable insights for Senior Management.

Ability to Explain, Influence & Convince

  • Explain delivery choices, constraints, and trade-offs in a clear, structured, fact-based way.
  • Convince stakeholders through strong reasoning, data-driven arguments, and clear articulation of value and risk.
  • Facilitate alignment between business, data, and IT where priorities or perspectives differ.
  • Drive decisions when consensus is difficult, while maintaining trust.
  • Obtain quarterly confirmation of the required Data & Analytics IT change budget for the following quarter and drive and monitor effective utilization within budget on a quarterly basis.

Your team

You will be part of the central Data & Analytics department, which enables the business to deliver high-quality data products and insights. The department plays a key role in NIBC’s digital transformation by providing scalable data capabilities and effective execution of the data strategy. You work closely with Product Owners, data teams, IT teams, and senior leadership across the organization. Furthermore, you will be part of the MT Data consisting of 5 people in total.

NIBC as an employer

NIBC is evolving from a financial service provider to a digital company in banking. Data aims to be one of the driving forces behind the digital transformation of the bank, an ongoing process that will profoundly change the relationship with clients and the way business is done. NIBC is closely connected, has few management levels, and short lines of communication. If you have a good idea today, you may be executing it tomorrow.

What’s in it for you?

  • Several ways to support your development personally and professionally, including a personal development budget to spend at your own discretion, a professional budget provided by your manager to develop yourself in your work, and in-house learning offerings.
  • Hybrid way of working, supporting working from home as well as time at the office, with a guideline of spending at least half of working time at the office.
  • Travel expenses or NS Business Card 1st class.
  • 32 holidays, which do not have to be registered.
  • Excellent pension scheme with 26% NIBC contribution.
  • A voucher to improve your home office.
  • The opportunity to take ownership and show initiative in your role. NIBC is always open to new ideas and encourages you to use your voice.
  • The Grow to Make a Difference program, enabling you to be in charge of your own development.
  • Two staff associations: YoungNIBC and MyLeisure.
  • Vitality program and annual company-wide sports and leisure days.
  • Monthly internet allowance.
  • Laptop and a company phone.
  • Excellent facilities at the office, including Coffeecorner, Restaurant, and Exchange bar.
  • A fun workplace in which diversity and inclusion is valued.

What do you bring?

  • 10+ years of experience in program management, portfolio management, or senior product or delivery roles in a complex IT or data-driven environment.
  • Experience with Agile, product-centric, and portfolio-level steering in multi-team environments.
  • Solid understanding of data, analytics, and IT landscapes and how delivery flows across teams and domains.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, Power BI, data lakes, and modern data architectures.
  • Proven ability to operate at senior management level and connect strategy with execution across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with finance or banking-specific regulations and compliance is preferred.
