HEINEKEN is offering an internship within Learning & People Development starting in September 2026 for students with a passion for people development who want to make an impact in an international environment.

Are you a (graduate) student with a passion for people development? Are you looking for an internship in an international environment where you can truly make an impact? Then this could be the internship for you.

The internship

HEINEKEN is currently transitioning towards a more strategic Head Office, with a strong focus on strengthening teams, ways of working, and future-ready capabilities. Within the Learning & People Development team, you will support this journey by contributing to initiatives that enable leaders, develop skills, and foster effective collaboration across the organization. As an intern, you will help teams and employees grow and adapt in a changing environment.

As a Learning & People Development intern, you are a true all-rounder. You will support the team on topics such as leadership and skill development, onboarding, team development initiatives, and health & wellbeing. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with a wide range of colleagues, giving you broad exposure and a steep learning curve.

You will also play an important role in communicating the learning and development offer to employees. With your creativity, you will help design internal activation campaigns and bring leadership programmes, team development initiatives and skills trainings to life. You will be a key point of contact for employees regarding L&D and help ensure new colleagues get the best possible start at HEINEKEN through the onboarding programme.

Overall, you will have a visible impact on the employee experience and on how colleagues perceive the People function.

During your internship, you will get to know HEINEKEN well, both within and beyond your own team. We give you trust and freedom, encourage fresh ideas, and provide the guidance that fits your learning needs.

The department

The Learning & People Development Team consists of a Learning & People Development Lead, a People Data Specialist, 2 Learning & People Development Specialists and an Employability Lead. You will join the team together with another intern starting at the same time.

We work closely with other teams within the People function, such as People Business Partners and People Operations, as well as with other HEINEKEN entities in the Netherlands.

At HEINEKEN we work in a hybrid way, combining time in the office with working from home. As a team, we are in the office together at least two days per week. Because we work in a small team, you will receive close guidance and support. You will have a one-on-one with your team lead every two weeks, and we regularly organise informal moments and activities outside of work.

The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 September 2026.
  • The internship preferably is 4 days a week (3 days might be a possibility).
  • The duration of the internship is 5 months.
  • You are registered at an educational institution.
  • It is a practice-oriented internship.
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 per month (based on fulltime).
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime).
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed.

The start of your internship

Together with a group of interns from different departments you will start your internship at HEINEKEN and be introduced to the organization. You can also organize fun activities with your fellow interns.

The unique you!

We believe everyone has unique talents, which is why we’re looking for you. Energy, drive and the ambition to grow are what make the difference at HEINEKEN.

You are a student at WO/master level in a field such as Human Resource Management, Organisational Development, Organisational Psychology, Educational Sciences or Business Administration, and you recognize yourself in the following:

  • A pragmatic person with a can-do and hands-on mentality.
  • An analytical thinker who works accurately.
  • Flexible and able to prioritize tasks and projects. Project management experience is beneficial.
  • Customer-focused and interested in stakeholder management, with an international mindset.

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  • You are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of your internship and can provide proof of enrollment for the current academic year during your onboarding.
  • In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
  • In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  • You reside in the Netherlands for the entire duration of your internship. Please note that HEINEKEN does not provide housing.
  • You are in possession of a valid citizen service number (BSN).
