Job Description

Start Date: As of June 2026

Duration: at least 12 months

Type: Internship (non-thesis)

Your role:

  • Design, develop, and test software components for patient monitoring within the interoperability and connectivity scope, including implementing communication protocols and managing network communication.
  • Drive investigations exploring various technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in an international Scrum team and take part in Scrum rituals, collaborating closely with device interoperability experts, software developers, and architects.

  • You are currently studying Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Medical Technology with a focus on software development, Medical Informatics, or a related field.
  • Good foundation in software development techniques, including object-oriented programming with programming skills in C++.
  • Additional experience with Python, version control (Git), and development environments (VS Code) is preferred.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For office-based teams, this means working in person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

We offer you:

  • A growth opportunity within a global multinational company.
  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on your education level and whether you need to relocate to The Netherlands. Part-time internships receive the allowance pro rata.
  • Housing compensation if you need to relocate near the office: a monthly allowance of €300 net in the vicinity of Amsterdam, or €255 net for other Philips locations. Eligibility requires a rental contract and a usual home-work travel distance of more than 50 km or 1.5 hours of travel time one way.
  • Travel compensation of up to €192 net as a monthly allowance if you are not eligible for a free public transport card.
  • Paid holidays per internship term.
  • The opportunity to buy Philips products at the Philips shop.
