Your job

As a Data Analyst, your behaviour sets you apart. Alongside your technical expertise, you are able to collaborate and communicate effectively. Your primary focus is on serving the interests of internal and external stakeholders. Together with your team, you are responsible for the design, development, maintenance and continuous improvement of data lineage and analytics capabilities, as well as data visualization using business intelligence tools. You identify, analyse and interpret trends and patterns in data and provide insights to further improve operations, processes and strategy. You communicate findings effectively and translate them into recommended actions. To achieve this, you work in close collaboration with data engineers and data stewards within your domain and various other stakeholders.

Some examples of your responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translating these into data-driven solutions
  • Driving continuous improvement of business and IT processes by applying data analytics
  • Communicating your findings to stakeholders and proposing recommended actions
  • Finding new and innovative ways to analyse data together with your team

Working environment

As a Data Analyst in this team, you will be part of the BI & Analytics Centre of Excellence, a team responsible for the delivery of different types of reports and analyses, servicing a wide range of stakeholders across the bank. The atmosphere in the team is informal and energetic, and making mistakes is accepted as long as everyone is open about it and learns from it. The team works together at the frontier of a major digital revolution and with the core value assets of the organization: data. BI & Analytics is therefore in constant collaboration with business users, data providers, platform teams and many other teams to improve the delivery of their products.

The BI & Analytics team consists of approximately 20 Data Analysts and is part of the Enterprise Enabling Data Domain. The team works alongside the Data Products teams, consisting of Data Management Experts, and the Data Science Centre of Excellence, consisting of Data Scientists. The team services MT I&T and underlying departments like the CDO, Procurement and the CIO's, but also the COO and multiple bank-wide projects.

The Enterprise Enabling Data Domain consists of talented data professionals that collaborate in projects and programs based on the capabilities that are required. The team supports the development of colleagues and facilitates opportunities that support this development. Autonomy and flexibility are two of many characteristics of the team.

Your profile

You are an analytical thinker and a doer whose behaviour reflects the culture principles of courage, care and collaboration. It is very important that you are able to translate business challenges into data solutions, like a true Data Evangelist. You have a passion for statistics and use this to gain valuable insights from data. You see relationships and translate these into new insights while maintaining a clear overview. Working with others inspires you to come up with new ideas and you are excited to share your insights with multiple stakeholders and data specialists.

This is on your resume:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant field
  • Consultancy experience and/or mindset, asking the right questions to provide the insights needed and improve the business
  • Up-to-date knowledge of new data analysis methods
  • Knowledge and experience of BI tools like PowerBI, preferably with a PL-300 licence
  • Knowledge and experience in Python, SQL and DAX
  • Knowledge and experience with Databricks/Analytics Studio, preferably with a licence
  • Fluent in English
