In the role of Product Group Manager Sidestreams & Sustainability you create both business and sustainable impact. The role has two main responsibilities. First, you develop and roll out sustainability-driven value propositions based on the environmental footprint of our products. These propositions help customers meet their sustainability targets while generating funds to further propel sustainability on dairy farms and in our factories.

Your second responsibility is to manage the portfolio of side- and reststreams resulting from our protein and prebiotics production processes. You lead projects that unlock the potential value of these streams, for example for the production of bioplastics or green gas, ensure business continuity and handle operational questions. Like a spider in a web, you connect the dots between supply chain, sales teams, R&D, corporate sustainability and external parties.

What we ask

In this role, you will be pioneering with urgency. With your business background, you understand data and financials and know how to create value for customers, stakeholders and FrieslandCampina. You relate and work well with people from different disciplines and backgrounds. You have demonstrable experience in managing multidisciplinary projects. It is a pre if you have experience in sustainability and understand some physics, but this is not mandatory. You are inquisitive, result-oriented and known to drive action.

Besides that you have:

  • Academic/Master level
  • More than 7 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English
  • Experience in commercial roles in B2B, ideally complemented with experience in R&D
  • Experience working in a large corporate, with the ability to create impact and manage stakeholders
  • Financial literacy to build business cases

Vacancy description

This role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement your product group strategy
  • Actively identify and create opportunities for your product group, together with sales, R&D and the segment teams
  • Drive profitability by applying value pricing, developing value propositions and driving the contract mix of your product group
  • Understand how dairy markets influence commercial strategy and translate this into insights for fellow product managers and sales colleagues
  • Execute product portfolio management to ensure specifications and product families remain in accordance with trends and legislative developments
  • Contribute to innovation projects by taking ownership of implementation and product documentation
  • Improve profitability of your product group by initiating value engineering projects
