Are you an experienced Senior Business Controller who enjoys combining strategic thinking with sharp financial analysis and tangible business impact? Then this role at GrandVision Benelux could be your next step. In this position, you play a key role in strengthening financial insight, performance management, and business control within a dynamic retail environment. You work closely with management and a wide range of stakeholders across the organization and its retail concepts. As a strategic business partner, you combine solid financial expertise with a strong understanding of the business to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

At the Support Office in Soesterberg, the Controlling department consists of 12 people. Because a Junior Business Controller is progressing internally, this role has become available. You will be part of an engaged and professional controlling team consisting of Senior Controllers, a Financial Controller, and Junior Controllers. In this role, you report to the Manager Controlling and work closely with Senior Controllers, senior management, commercial teams, and Finance colleagues across the Benelux organization.

What will you do?

As a Senior Business Controller, you act as the financial sparring partner for management. You provide insight, direction, and advice based on data, and actively contribute to improved performance and decision-making across the organization. Your insights directly influence strategic decisions at both Benelux and retail formula level. You are responsible for analyzing, budgeting, monitoring, and improving financial and operational business processes and performance.

  • Analyze financial and operational performance and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and business cases
  • Deliver clear management information through reports and dashboards
  • Support and prepare various reports, for example on revenue and margin, and contribute to well-founded budgets and forecasts
  • Analyze different categories, including spectacle lenses, frames, contact lenses, sunglasses, and marketing campaigns
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement in performance and processes
  • Initiate and drive financial and operational process improvements
  • Strengthen internal procedures and reporting by proposing improvements
  • Report on both periodic and ad-hoc questions and projects
  • Continuously optimize and verify financial and administrative processes

In short, this is a diverse role within a dynamic organization where you will have many opportunities to further develop yourself and the Controlling function.

What do you bring?

You combine strong analytical capabilities with a proactive and advisory mindset. You communicate clearly at different levels, are comfortable challenging assumptions, and work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders. You are service-oriented, commercially minded, pragmatic, and result-driven. You enjoy planning and organizing, like to dive into the details, contribute your own ideas, and are not afraid to ask critical questions.

  • Extensive experience in a senior business control or finance role
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and performance management
  • Proven ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
  • Experience with management reporting, dashboards, and variance analysis
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, financial processes, and governance
  • A completed university degree, preferably in Business Economics or a related field
  • Relevant work experience; experience within a retail organization is a plus
  • Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of Excel; SAP is a plus
  • Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
