Are you an enthusiastic IT business analyst who inspires others to create innovative solutions? Then we need your help in making ABN AMRO a personal bank in a digital age.

As an IT Business Analyst within the Mortgages & Daily Banking Domain, you play a key role in shaping and delivering an enterprise-grade Accounts & Balances API. You work at the intersection of business, architecture, and engineering, ensuring that customer and stakeholder needs are translated into scalable, high-quality solutions that simplify the IT landscape.

You actively contribute to product discovery, delivery, and migration initiatives, helping to move the organization away from legacy systems towards a future-proof, API-driven platform.

Your job

  • Act as a trusted link between business stakeholders, Product Owners, Architects and DevOps team, translating business needs into clear Epics, Features, and User Stories.
  • Ensure product implementations meet business expectations by defining and validating business test cases and acceptance criteria.
  • Support and coordinate migration activities from legacy solutions to the new Enterprise API, including impact analysis and stakeholder communication.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders across the organization to manage expectations, dependencies, and priorities.
  • Strengthen the team’s business and domain knowledge, especially around accounts, balances, permissions, and consumer usage.
  • Actively promote a DevOps mindset, encouraging ownership, continuous improvement, and close collaboration between development and operations.

Working environment

At Mortgages & Daily Banking, we bring together the full mortgage lifecycle with the essential day-to-day banking services used by millions of customers. The cluster consists of the Mortgages and Daily Banking grids and delivers digital products that support customers throughout their financial journey from orienting on a mortgage to managing accounts, payments, insurance and liquidity services. Our teams operate in multidisciplinary DevOps setups with end-to-end ownership of their services. This means you work at the intersection of innovation and system stability, enabling fast time to market while safeguarding the core banking systems.

Your profile

Must have:

  • 5+ years of proven experience as an IT Business Analyst, including requirements gathering, refinement, backlog management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex technical and business domains.
  • Affinity with technologies such as Java, Maven, Spring Boot, Azure, SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience calling APIs using Postman, with the ability to analyse requests and responses.
  • Candidates should be able to dive into dashboards, logs, data, and charts to derive insights, observations, and conclusions.
  • Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps ways of working.
  • Proficiency in English, spoken and written.

Nice to have:

  • Ability to see the bigger picture, understand dependencies across systems and journeys, and translate strategy into actionable backlog items.
  • Experience working in API-driven or platform teams.
  • Proficiency in Dutch, spoken and written.

Required soft skills:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt your message to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive, curious, and comfortable challenging assumptions in a constructive way.
