This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice.

Adyen is looking for an AR Specialist to join our Group Finance team in Amsterdam. This role is centered on maintaining the integrity of the Accounts Receivable (AR) process, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and efficient reconciliation of transactions. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the scalability and compliance of AR processes across multiple global entities.

The role provides the opportunity to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, supporting the continued growth of the company in a scalable, controlled and compliant way, and will contribute to exciting projects.

Being part of the centralized Finance team means you’ll be working in the (financial) engine room of a registered and listed financial institution.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing using internal billing systems while adhering to compliance and financial controls.
  • Perform cash and bank reconciliations using Workday, addressing discrepancies promptly to maintain financial integrity.
  • Handle collections activities, including customer communications, to resolve outstanding payments and ensure timely receipt of funds.
  • Use Salesforce to manage and resolve payment-related inquiries.
  • Participate in month-end closing processes to ensure AR transactions are accurately reflected in financial statements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address AR-related inquiries and support process enhancements.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and automating AR processes, reducing manual tasks.
  • Monitor and analyze AR performance metrics, identifying trends and proposing solutions to improve outcomes.

Who you are

  • You have 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, financial accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are your strengths.
  • You are proactive, solutions-oriented, and eager to work independently while contributing to team goals.
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments and are skilled at prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • You have experience with AR tools like Workday, Salesforce, Highradius or similar platforms, and you are keen to drive automation in processes.
  • You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to think 2 steps ahead. We are looking for someone that can question the status quo, think critically and creatively to implement solutions to scale during Adyen’s rapid growth.
  • You have strong communication skills.

This role is based out of our Amsterdam office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.

We took an unobvious approach to starting a payments company, building a platform from scratch. Today, we're the payments platform of choice for the world's brightest companies. Our unobvious approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity, of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, is essential in helping us maintain our momentum.
