Technical Lead Data & Analytics - Sustainability

We are seeking a Technical Lead in Data & Analytics to join our Digital Sustainability team and help tackle complex sustainability challenges across our organization. If you are a dynamic leader with expertise spanning traditional BI solutions, Data Science as well as new or less conventional approaches such as large language models (LLMs), and graph-driven analytics, we want to hear from you. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by combining your passion for data and analytics with a commitment to advancing sustainability. You will collaborate with supportive colleagues in a friendly, forward-thinking environment where your skills and fresh perspective will be truly valued.

What we ask

  • Bachelor's or master's in data and analytics or relevant field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in data and analytics.
  • You are fluent in SQL and python via extensive hands-on experience as a developer for BI (modelling and engineering) and cloud engineering.
  • You inspire confidence and naturally technically guide teams because your expertise and insights are widely recognized and trusted.
  • Experience with SAP processes & data, Power BI (PBI), Databricks, large language models (LLM), Neo4J, ontologies, machine learning, and Microsoft Azure are strong advantages.
  • Able to translate complex business questions into compelling visualizations and data narratives that drive understanding and engagement.
  • Familiarity with sustainability topics, audit-related data processes, and a broad spectrum of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) business processes is beneficial.
  • Able to effectively bridge the gap between sustainability stakeholders and IT, facilitating clear communication and alignment between both domains.
  • Based in the Netherlands and within reasonable commuting distance of Amersfoort (minimum two days per week on-site), with strong English communication skills.

What we offer

FrieslandCampina has a unique company culture of Dutch heritage and international presence. The work environment is informal and friendly, where you collaborate with passionate professionals. You will have access to training and coaching to support your professional growth, and internal career development opportunities are actively encouraged. With trust and autonomy, you will have the chance to create lasting impact.

As Technical Lead Sustainability Data & Analytics, you will:

  • Set the technical bar for sustainability data solutions, ensuring quality, scalability, and architectural consistency across teams.
  • Proactively resolve complex technical challenges, stepping in hands‑on where it adds most value to support teams, unblock progress, and drive sound technical decisions.
  • Act as the tactical bridge between the Digital Sustainability team and Global IT (Data Engineering).
  • Be the trusted technical sparring partner for Digital Specialists across the team.
  • Shape the future of our sustainability data landscape by driving innovation and challenging the status quo.
  • Own end to end technical accountability for sustainability data solutions, ensuring robustness, maintainability, and long-term scalability.
  • Provide clear technical direction and make solution level tradeoffs, setting standards and guardrails across sustainability data products.
  • Develop technical capability across the team by coaching, mentoring, and elevating engineering and analytics practices.
  • Align technical decisions with delivery priorities, balancing speed, quality, and long-term sustainability solutions.
  • Safeguard non‑functional requirements such as data quality, auditability, security, and reliability across all solutions.
