What are you going to do?

“In this role, you turn complex technology into practical retail solutions that work in-store and at scale.”

Martijn Kruissen Team Captain

As a Solution Engineer at Nedap, you maximize customer success with the iD Cloud platform by translating technical capabilities into practical, scalable retail solutions. You ensure that what we build actually works in the real world of stores, supply chains, and omnichannel operations.

You work closely with international retailers and go on-site to understand how their processes truly work—from receiving shipments to managing inventory and fulfilling orders. Based on these insights, you design how iD Cloud should be implemented, aligning customer processes with platform functionality.

You collaborate with Sales, Implementation, Product Management, Customer Success, and the Integrations & Data Analytics (IDA) team. While IDA focuses on integrations (APIs) and business case analyses, you ensure the solution fits operational reality. You also work with external partners such as tagging providers and hardware suppliers.

Who you will mainly be dealing with:

International retailers, and internal teams such as Sales, Implementation, Product Management, Integrations & Data Analytics, and Customer Success, as well as external partners like tagging parties and hardware providers.

Your responsibilities

Customer advisory

Advise customers on the optimal use of iD Cloud, including integrations, hardware, and process design.

Solution translation

Translate customer needs into scalable solutions by proposing best practices aligned with the platform.

Hands-on execution

Support pilots, demos, and feature rollouts while resolving technical challenges together with the customer.

In-store analysis

Assess retail processes on-site (e.g. goods receiving, store operations, order flows) and translate these into solutions.

Collaboration

Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Implementation, Product, IDA, Customer Success) and external partners.

Continuous improvement

Identify improvements and occasionally contribute to feature requests—without relying on custom solutions.

Your team

You will join the Solution Engineers team, combining technical expertise and retail knowledge. You collaborate closely with Sales, Implementation, and Product Management, and report to the Solution Engineers lead. The team works in an international setting, with regular presence at the Nedap Campus in Groenlo and flexibility to work remotely.

“Every customer is different, which makes this role dynamic—you constantly balance technology with real-world retail challenges.”

What's in it for you?

Our offer

You will be working in a high-energy work environment that inspires, with access to all the resources you need to do the best possible job. You will be given scope to organize your working days yourself and we offer excellent pay and benefits.

  • You balance freedom and autonomy with accountability; a role with high impact across the full customer journey and international exposure with leading retailers with the freedom to shape solutions and influence improvements in technology.
  • Given that our people are the basis for our success, we are more than happy to invest in your development. We do not have a fixed development budget. Besides following our extensive onboarding program, you will enter a personal development process that will see us assess your potential together and explore ways to get the most out of your potential.

Required skills

You combine technical insight with retail understanding and communicate clearly with stakeholders, translating complex challenges into practical, scalable solutions.

  • Experience with APIs and integrations.
  • Experience with Python or shell scripting.
  • Experience with SaaS platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership quickly.
  • Affinity with retail; experience in a retail environment is a strong plus.
  • Background in roles such as Product Specialist, Product Owner, or Implementation Manager is a plus.
  • Excellent command of English.
