Are you innovative, driven and ready to make a real impact in the offshore wind industry? As Offshore Construction Manager at Van Oord, you’ll lead complex marine operations that shape the future of renewable energy. Together with your team, you’ll deliver projects that outlast storms, tides and time — and leave a mark on the world’s energy transition.

The position

In this role, you lead, coach and motivate your offshore construction team from preparation to successful execution. You are ultimately responsible for safe, efficient and timely operations that meet the highest standards in the offshore wind industry. Working closely with project management, QHSE, vessel teams and clients, you ensure collaboration, control and performance throughout the entire installation process.

Your impact

As Offshore Construction Manager, you translate strategy into action. Your leadership turns complex offshore challenges into safe and efficient operations. You create clarity amid complexity, empower your crew and drive results that build a more resilient, sustainable world.

You will:

  • Lead the preparation phase, ensuring safe and timely execution
  • Manage the full operational cycle of offshore wind installations
  • Lead, coach and motivate multidisciplinary construction teams
  • Coordinate progress with internal and external stakeholders, such as vessel management, clients and marine warranty surveyors
  • Report to the Project Management team on progress, risks, challenges and improvements

Your workplace

You’ll work on projects across the globe, alternating between office-based project preparation, offshore locations and time on board our advanced installation vessels. It’s a dynamic, 24/7 operational environment where teamwork, trust and accountability are key. You’ll be part of an international community of professionals who care deeply about safety, innovation and impact.

About you

You are a confident leader with a calm, decisive approach under pressure. You combine technical expertise with a human touch — guiding your team through challenges while keeping safety and efficiency in focus. You’re at your best when collaborating, solving problems and driving continuous improvement. You also have:

  • Experience in a similar position
  • At least 10 years of operational experience in complex offshore installation projects
  • A strong command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • A flexible attitude toward working in varying rotations on vessels and project sites worldwide
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple stakeholders

We offer

We offer you a role where you will make a significant contribution to our mission of building a better world for future generations. Additionally, we offer you:

  • A salary matching with responsibilities and experience
  • Project allowances (based on location and situation of the project)
  • A pension scheme
  • A variable bonus
  • A great onboarding program in which you get familiar with Van Oord and also get to know your new colleagues
  • Opportunity to make career steps, within different business units
  • Extensive learning and (personal) development possibilities, including a wide range of online courses via Goodhabitz
  • An attractive travel allowance, if you work at an office in the Netherlands
At Van Oord, I don’t just work on projects, I get to see them come to life.
