The Digital Manufacturing Team partners with colleagues across the business to help serve our patients and customers around the world. Purpose of the role

The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Engineer contributes to the digital foundation that supports manufacturing operations at the Boxmeer site. The role focuses on enabling accurate, reliable, and compliant digital batch records through the effective use and evolution of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

This position is ideal for professionals who are developing their expertise in manufacturing systems and enjoy learning through hands on experience, collaboration, and mentoring. The MES Engineer works within a multidisciplinary environment, gaining exposure to regulated manufacturing processes, digital systems, and global ways of working, while building technical and problem-solving skills.

By supporting system reliability, participating in improvement initiatives, and engaging with the wider MES community, the role helps strengthen both local manufacturing performance and global digital capabilities.

Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Support daily manufacturing operations through the use and administration of Körber/Werum PAS|X.
  • Assist with diagnosing and resolving MES and automation issues, contributing to investigations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Configure, maintain and enhance MES recipes, workflows, and system functionality.
  • Work closely with engineering, automation, IT and quality colleagues to ensure MES solutions are practical, reliable and fit for purpose.
  • Support the planning, implementation and documentation of system updates and changes in line with quality standards and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) requirements.
  • Carry out MES system administration and routine maintenance activities to help maintain validated automation environments.
  • Share knowledge and learn from others by contributing to cross functional initiatives and participating in global MES collaboration forums.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and contribute ideas that enhance system performance, usability and manufacturing efficiency.

Your profile

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience (including internships, graduate roles, or project‑based work) contributing to technical solutions in a collaborative environment. Experience may include manufacturing systems, automation, IT applications, data analysis, validation or quality‑driven settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and seek guidance or escalate issues when needed.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, with an interest in learning and developing within an MES and regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of the Dutch language is considered an advantage.
