Just Eat Takeaway.com is looking for a Technology Manager to lead and grow the Partner Order Progress and Insights team in the Partner Operations domain.

The Opportunity

The Partner Order Progress and Insights team is dedicated to transforming complex operational data into actionable intelligence. We build and maintain a sophisticated, real-time insights layer designed to empower our Partners to streamline their operations, and maximize revenue growth in partnership with JET.

As a Technology Manager you will be responsible for coordinating the design and implementation of solutions built by your engineers to provide solutions for our key capabilities:

  • Intelligent Insights - Develop an adaptable, multi-channel data layer that serves as the "brain" for partner insight into their partnership with JET. We ensure the right insight reaches the partner at the right time via the most effective channel.
  • Operational Optimization - Provide real-time, predictive alerts to help Partners manage "the night" effectively—reducing delays, preventing order errors, and shrinking complex tasks into single-click interactions.
  • Growth Guidance - Identify immediate and strategic value opportunities, such as menu/product gaps and joint marketing ventures, to drive incremental revenue for both the Partner and JET.

By leveraging JET’s high-scale streaming architecture, we turn raw data into "intelligent nudges" that guide Partners toward better decision-making—whether that’s saving an order in the moment or identifying long-term expansion opportunities.

Technology stack and platform ecosystem

We build for scale and speed, ensuring our insights are as close to real-time as possible. Our technology builds on JET’s platform ecosystem:

  • Modern Product Engineering - Developing robust, scalable services using Kotlin, Java or .NET and delivering intuitive, high-performance user experiences via modern Web Technologies.
  • Real-Time Data Processing - Leveraging Mobius (JET’s streaming data platform) to process millions of events with sub-second latency feeding AI models and our analytics platform.
  • Data Intelligence - Utilizing BigQuery for deep historical analysis and pattern recognition to power our predictive recommendation engine.
  • Agentic AI - Integrating our insights layer with JET’s communication and optimization agents to drive automated partner decision-making.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

Technology Managers have primary accountability for the technical direction, engineering quality and execution of multiple product development teams. They work with their teams to design and implement solutions and product features that make customer and restaurant experiences even better.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Product Definition - contribute to the definition of significant product features, getting involved in workshops with other engineering teams and Product Managers
  • Technical Leadership - Collaborate with your Head of Engineering and peers to define and communicate a technical roadmap for the domain
  • Career Development - Help define goals and objectives for engineers in the team to lead and guide them throughout their careers and aspirations.
  • Prioritisation - Working closely with stakeholders and your Head of Engineering to ensure the domain sets their priorities appropriately, in line with commercial needs and the Engineering Strategy.
  • Ownership - Owning streams of work that span the domain, from requirements gathering, to design, and supporting functionality in production
  • Continuous improvement - Improve the effectiveness of the domain by proposing and implementing new processes, designs and engineering practices. Sharing these improvements across the wider Engineering org.
  • Tracking Progress - Track the progress being made towards the wider goals of the domain, and transparently communicates this with the teams and Head of Engineering
  • Operating - Take responsibility for deploying and supporting your changes all the way through to prove that they work well - and continue to work well - in production
  • Communicate - transparently communicate your progress and discuss ideas with your teams, other senior Individual Contributors and your Head of Engineering. Share new development practices, patterns, and standards with the teams you work with.

What will you bring to the table?

  • Experience leading and developing teams of engineers as its core technology using an Event Driven Architecture
  • Delivering high quality software projects, driving forward best practices
  • Able to work independently and solve complex problems
  • Amazon Web Services (or similar e.g. Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Experience in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Desire to coach engineers and to drive a high performance culture

Working at JET

Our teams forge connections internally and work with some of the best-known brands on the planet, giving us truly international impact in a dynamic environment.

Fun, fast-paced and supportive, the JET culture is about movement, growth and about celebrating every aspect of our JETers.
