We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Direct Tax Lead to shape and oversee our global direct tax agenda and drive measurable value across the organization. This pivotal role is responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive direct tax strategy, ensuring robust tax governance, optimizing the group’s tax position, and maintaining full compliance across all jurisdictions in which we operate.
The Direct Tax Lead will play a critical role in managing corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and tax risk, while navigating an increasingly complex and evolving regulatory landscape. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen, enabling them to translate tax matters into clear commercial insights. They will demonstrate sound judgment, stakeholder influence at senior levels, and the ability to build trusted relationships both internally and with external advisors and tax authorities.
About the role
The impact you’ll make:
- Execute the company’s direct tax strategy in alignment with business objectives, advising senior leadership on the tax implications of commercial decisions, operating models, and corporate structures while optimizing the overall tax position.
- Establish and maintain a robust tax governance framework, ensuring accurate and timely compliance across all jurisdictions, proactively monitoring regulatory developments, and overseeing tax audits and risk management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Treasury, Supply Chain, and regional teams to provide clear, actionable tax guidance on business initiatives, expansions, and transformations.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global tax team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, while managing key relationships with external advisors and tax authorities.
The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in international tax, ideally within a multinational corporation and/or Big Four environment.
- Experience leading global teams and influencing senior stakeholders is a pre
- Strong understanding of corporate and withholding taxes, OECD guidelines, BEPS developments, and evolving global tax frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity and drive alignment.
