Product Owner Engineering Platform

Will you build the technical foundations on which hundreds of Nedap engineers build every day? At Nedap, we believe that technology only has a real impact when the human side is right. We are looking for a Product Owner for our Engineering Platform teams who understands that a clear course is the best basis for a healthy and motivated team. You provide the direction so that your team members can excel in their profession.

The Nedap Tech Platform develops central solutions to support Nedap's customer-oriented applications. With hosting, insight, data and developer enablement, we accelerate developers and help them focus on their product. Within the NTP, various teams work daily to translate our strategy into future-proof products.

In this hybrid role, you combine product vision with people-oriented leadership. You are the translator between the organisational strategy and the daily practice of engineering. You work closely with the Governance team (Product, Delivery and Adoption Manager) to ensure that what we build is actually adopted by the rest of Nedap.

What are you going to do?

Your responsibilities

Vision and roadmap

You translate strategic ambitions into a feasible and concrete backlog. And you strike the right balance between priority and capacity. You ensure that the value we deliver is always in line with the broader Engineering Ecosystem.

Rhythm and progress

You monitor rhythm, progress and predictability. You identify and address blockages in a timely manner and encourage ownership within the team. Together with the team's Technical Lead, you ensure that content quality and progress remain in balance.

People lead (HR)

In addition to your product role, you are also responsible for the well-being and professional development of your team members. You coach them on personal learning goals and create a safe environment in which everyone can perform optimally.

Stakeholder Management

You are the point of contact for other teams and the Governance Team. You share successes, align expectations and proactively create space when organisational obstacles slow down the team.

Focus and Balance

You monitor the flow of the team. By making clear choices (‘what do we do now and what later?’), you prevent overload and ensure sustainable results.

Your team

You will be part of an ecosystem consisting of four teams, each with their own focus area as part of the Nedap Tech Platform. These teams always consist of a Product Owner, Technical Lead and specialists. The Governance team supports the teams in the strategic direction, delivery and adoption of the platform. This team consists of a Product Manager (strategy), Delivery Manager (quality and delivery) and Adoption Manager (implementation and training for teams within Nedap that use the platform).

Required skills

You are a natural enabler who brings direction and clarity to a complex environment. Together with the Product Manager, you maintain a sharp helicopter view, connect strategy, vision and execution, and guide the team to translate technical concepts into clear business value and vice versa. You naturally take ownership and proactively address bottlenecks, always with the common goal and the long term in mind. In doing so, you have a genuine interest in people: you understand team dynamics and encourage others to get the best out of themselves. With strong organisational skills, you build a future-proof platform and a clear course in a structured manner.

• Work experience: You have demonstrable experience as a (Senior) Product Owner, Tech Lead or in a similar role within a technical environment. Preferably, you also have technical experience or an affinity with engineering, even if only as a hobby.
• Experience with organisational change: You are the stable factor in a changing environment. You buffer the dynamics of the organisation and create the necessary calm and focus for your team to perform optimally.
• Experience with prioritisation: You are familiar with frameworks for substantiating choices and have an affinity with the lifecycle of internal products (Platform-as-a-Product).
• Management experience (preferred): Experience in leading and managing teams is a strong advantage, but not a requirement.
• Language skills: You speak excellent English. Preferably, you also have a good command of Dutch.

Good to know: Hybrid (remote) working is common at Nedap, and you and your team can coordinate your working hours to achieve a good work-life balance. Preferably, you will be present at our campus in Groenlo at least twice a week.
