Purpose

You drive the preservation and enhancement of competitive advantage through the development of innovative technologies and concepts that align with SBM's strategy. You support proposals, engineering studies, and FEEDs while ensuring projects are delivered to meet contractual and organizational requirements. Additionally, you may lead technology development studies to achieve cutting-edge solutions.

Responsibilities

Innovation and Technology Development:

  • Analyze market trends, competition, and internal needs to identify innovative opportunities.
  • Define project scope, perform advanced analytics, and create conceptual designs and prototypes.
  • Ensure robust documentation and effective transfer or implementation of developed solutions.
  • Lead or support testing and validation processes, including developing test protocols.

Project and Study Support:

  • Establish quality and scope objectives for proposals and engineering studies.
  • Integrate HSSE, regulatory, and quality criteria within project designs and execution.
  • Develop design basis documentation, technical specifications, and optimize design solutions.
  • Manage project milestones, address challenges proactively, and provide stakeholder updates.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop strong communication channels with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage third parties, including labs, universities, and subcontractors, to align on project requirements.
  • Represent the organization professionally and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Study Leadership (if applicable):

  • Define study scope, assign team responsibilities, and provide guidance and coaching.
  • Promote a positive team environment, address performance issues, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Incorporate lessons learned and identify potential scope changes to minimize risks and delays.

Education

  • BSc or MSc in the relevant area

Experience

  • Experience in engineering, R&D, or technology development roles.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, develop innovative solutions, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices.

SBM Offshore provides floating production solutions to the offshore energy industry, over the full product life-cycle. The Company is market leading in leased floating production systems with multiple units currently in operation and has unrivalled operational experience in this field. The Company’s main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels. These are either owned and operated by SBM Offshore and leased to its clients or supplied on a turnkey sale basis.
