Would you like to contribute to the logistics performance of A-brands like Schiphol? Are you interested in building systems together with enthusiastic team members who handle Hardware and Controls? Do you enjoy dealing with day-to-day challenges such as capacity requirements, a variety of products handled, and interacting with equipment suppliers while meeting deadlines and budget?

Then this opportunity in our Airports Engineering team could be the perfect fit for you!

Your responsibilities

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will become part of our Airports Project Engineering Department in Veghel. The Project Engineering Department is responsible for the execution of projects in which the different components (mechanical and electrical) of our material handling systems are implemented.

You will have the opportunity to work on interesting, international projects together with a multidisciplinary team of engineers under the supervision of a Project Leader. You will be responsible for translating sold systems into detailed system designs. To ensure safety, accessibility, and functionality of the complete system, close cooperation with colleagues from other departments is key. During execution, you will support the installation and commissioning team, either remotely or on site. The challenge in this position is to achieve the right balance between customer requirements, a feasible solution, the available budget, and the right scheduling. Additionally, you are keen on continuous improvement of our products, tooling, and processes.

Your main activities

  • Create the Bill of Material, and ensure that your Supply Chain colleagues can deliver on time and within customer specifications.
  • Complete the 3D design from sketch to customer approval.
  • Solve any issues that you encounter, either during the engineering or installation/commissioning phase of the project.
  • Support the site installation teams with your knowledge, either remotely or on site.

Your qualifications and skills

  • At least a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a technical discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering).
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks, and deal with issues in a practical environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing in English.
  • A cooperative mindset, enthusiastic to work in multidisciplinary, international teams, and eager to share your knowledge with coworkers.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 10% of the time.

What do we offer?

This position offers a competitive salary range of €4,200 to €6,400 per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance).

On top of your fixed salary, you’ll receive the following secondary benefits:

  • 40 vacation days (20 statutory days and a flexible budget worth 20 days).
  • Flexible working hours.
  • A hybrid workplace (40% working from home and 60% in the office).
  • A Health & Wellbeing budget worth €300 per calendar year.
  • Commuting allowance, including full reimbursement of travel by public transport.
  • Working from home allowance.
  • Collective pension scheme and discount on additional health insurance.
  • On-site company health centres with a gym, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.
  • Vanderlande Academy and training facilities to boost your skills.
  • A variety of Vanderlande Network communities and initiatives.
  • A great company restaurant and coffee bar with barista.
