You & your role

You are a DevOps engineer with a focus on automation because you don’t like repetitive work. You are able to collaborate with other teams and chapters, but you can also work independently. You actively seek answers to find solutions in a complex enterprise environment.

Our department

We are team SASE-Akamai and are based within Engineering & Enterprise Technology (EET), Foundation 4 Tech, Distributed Networks department. We are the online front door of Rabobank.

Anything Rabobank hosts and exposes to the public domain is monitored and secured with our services. We deliver 24/7 security for our online infrastructure for millions of Rabobank customers worldwide. We work together with hundreds of different developer teams in Rabobank to secure our applications in the best possible way.

• Securing a new public Rabobank application by configuring and tuning edge security rules together with multiple development teams.
• Automating recurring security checks and configurations using infrastructure-as-code and continuous integration pipelines.
• Troubleshooting and resolving business-impacting security incidents affecting global online services.

Top 3 responsibilities

1. Maintain and improve edge security platforms by monitoring system health, ensuring continuity and preventing disruptions across global online services.
2. Collaborate with engineers and teams to research, test and implement new edge security features that improve performance and protection.
3. Analyse, troubleshoot and resolve complex security incidents that have direct impact on public-facing banking applications.

You & your talent

• Bachelor’s degree in preferably Software Engineering, Computer Science, Networks Engineering, or another STEM related field OR be technically trained.
• Knowledge about and experience with Agile, DevOps, Lean and ITIL.

And possess some of below listed knowledge areas and skills:

• Experience in managing Akamai, Cloudflare, AWS WAF or other WAF solutions.
• Passion for automating recurring tasks, tests, and security checks through CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps.
• Solid networking skills at layer 3 and above.
• Web browser technologies (e.g., Caching, Cookies, Headers).
• Language and frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Python, JSON, PowerShell, Bash, YAML).
• Public cloud providers (e.g., AWS / Azure).
• Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems (e.g., Azure AD, ADFS).
• Protocols and web technologies such as (e.g., HTTP, TLS, DNS, HTML, JavaScript, CSS)
