Qualifications
You need the following qualifications for the position of Databricks Cloud Deployment Engineer (Azure):
- A technical Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Physics, or a related field;
- At least 4 years of work experience in cloud engineering; consulting experience is a plus;
- Proven experience with Databricks deployment and administration on Azure including workspace configuration, cluster management and access control;
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security (AAD, RBAC, private networking), identity and access management, storage and resource management;
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and CI/CD pipelines for Databricks deployments;
- Proficiency with cloud networking, security, and resource management;
- Relevant Azure and Databricks Certificates are advantageous;
- Excellent command of English and Dutch.
What impact will you make?
As a Databricks Cloud Deployment Engineer (Azure), you will be a trusted adviser to our clients, designing and implementing secure, high-performance Databricks environments on Azure. You will standardize governance with Unity Catalog. You will automate provisioning and deployments with Terraform, Databricks Asset Bundles, and CI/CD. You will embed secure networking, observability, and compliance by design.
How do you do this?
- Design and deploy Databricks workspaces within Azure, including networking, security, and integration with other services (e.g., Key Vault, Data Lake, ADF, Synapse);
- Automate Databricks environment provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. ARM, Biceps, Terraform, Cloudformation, Databricks Asset Bundles);
- Troubleshoot deployment, connectivity, and integration issues;
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and security teams to enforce platform governance and compliance;
- Configure identity and access management (IAM) and permissions for users and service principals;
- Maintain documentation on environment setup, automation scripts, and operational procedures.
