At Nedap Security, you will work on the design of innovative access control products. Our readers, controllers and interfaces are used worldwide to provide access to buildings and sites. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in the development process from the initial idea onwards. You will draw up mechanical specifications based on functionality, quality, manufacturability and cost price. You will develop concepts, design and model the product in 3D. You will be responsible for validating the designs in prototype iterations and will supervise and validate the transfer to tooling, production and assembly. You radiate passion and enthusiasm and know how to convey this to your colleagues.
You take the lead in the mechanical design of our hardware, from sketch design to implementation of production tooling, with a focus on enclosures exposed to extreme conditions.
Drawing up mechanical specifications
You take the lead in drawing up mechanical specifications.
Concepts and prototyping
You develop concepts in 3D and supervise prototyping.
Design for manufacturing (DfM)
You make material choices and consider manufacturability.
Design validation
You validate designs in terms of fit, watertightness, impact resistance, etc.
Integrated product development
You will design packaging and accessories as part of the product.
Assurance in PLM
You will ensure designs and iterations are recorded in our PLM system.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the R&D Team for Devices within Nedap Security. The team consists of hardware, firmware and embedded engineers. This multidisciplinary team works on the development and maintenance of our Devices. In this role, you will also be in frequent contact with the Product Owner, Supplier Operations, Compliance and, where necessary, other functions within the organisation. In addition, you will be in frequent contact with external technology partners and suppliers, representing Nedap's interests from a mechanical perspective.

Good to know: Hybrid (partly remote) working is common at Nedap. In consultation with your colleagues, you coordinate your working hours to achieve a good work-life balance. We would like to see you at our campus in Groenlo at least two days a week.
