How you can make a difference

Join one of the biggest Supply Chains in The Netherlands as a Data Engineer and work in a heavy data driven environment to help rebuild our traditional tech into a modern cutting-edge and more sustainable technology landscape!

This is how you will reinvent food retail.

The Albert Heijn Technology Supply Chain platform is a front runner in creating and providing a stable base to our processes and enhancing the shopping experience for millions of customers who visit our stores daily. Within the platform, multiple products contribute to the overall success, each managed by a product team categorized under Replenishment, Logistics, or Transport. You will contribute by:

  • Designing robust, resilient, and scalable analytical applications that are ready for the future
  • Developing data pipelines and services that enable business-critical and strategic replenishment processes
  • Optimizing existing workflows to improve performance, time complexity, and total cost of ownership
  • Collaborating with other engineers, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders ensuring alignment with strategic goals and engineering best practices
  • Being part of an agile scrum team, participating in standups, refinement, planning, and retrospectives
  • Mentoring junior and medior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
  • Helping build a strong community of data professionals within Albert Heijn’s technology platforms

You will join the Smart Replenishment Product team. This team focuses on creating and advancing services that enable order optimizations and forecast distribution towards the wider replenishment and suppliers, ensuring sufficient stock for over 1,000 Albert Heijn stores. Even small improvements can generate significant benefits.

Exciting products you will work on include:

  • A data-driven application that optimizes orders while considering supply chain constraints, resulting in an order that can be fulfilled with minimal operational changes
  • A big-data-driven application used for managing supplier performance that aims at increasing product availability for customers in stores

Your new team and office.

Together with your team you will work on inspiring projects to accelerate our transition into a hybrid Food & Tech company. We want to leverage data and technology to future-proof food shopping and give our customers the accessibility to healthy food more easily available for everyone. At Albert Heijn, you team up with inspiring peers in the data, digital and tech domains—a community of diverse individuals who share a common goal: to create digital solutions that make (online) shopping simpler and more inspiring. We invest heavily in data, digital and tech—and that includes investing in your career! Our teams work in a hybrid way: both from home as well as in the office.
