Master Data - Business Relationship Manager (BRM)

Location: Hoofddorp (with flexibility for 2 days home office)
Reports to: Head of PMO and Master Data Excellence
Division: Corporate – covering multidiv.

Mission Identity At L’Oréal, our operations teams strive to create an integrated value chain to ensure continuous growth and customer satisfaction. As a Master Data BRM, you will not be executor, but the strategic bridge between local business needs and the BEST (Shared Services) organization. You drive data excellence by managing the relationship, overseeing MD & brand integration projects, and ensuring our GS1 & environmental product data serves as a competitive advantage.

Your Key Accountabilities

1. Business Relationship Management (BRM) & Coordination

  • Act as the primary coordinator between local stakeholders and the BEST Master Data Management organization.
  • Be the first level of incident requests: troubleshooting local issues and escalating complex cases to BEST Specialists & their Managers.
  • Conduct initial assessments of local business needs & demands and share them with the BEST team for implementation.
  • Ensure smooth, two-way communication to align local priorities with the European Master Data strategy.

2. Project Management

  • Capture local business needs for MD and brand integration projects and integrate them into the BEST Project portfolio.
  • Drive local masterdata projects aimed at implementing new brands or improving ways of working, taking overarching responsibility of product, customer and vendor masterdata.
  • Ensure project progress and test, review & implement needed adjustments in close alignment with local and BEST teams.
  • Ensure close followup of MD Detox routines with CMD & PMD BRMs, enabling successful Neo preparation & project execution.

3. Data Quality & GS1 Governance

  • GS1 Product Data Management: Act as the local lead for GS1 BNL standards, ensuring that all product data shared with external retailers and GDSN platforms remain accurate, compliant, and synchronized. This may include required data quality program checks with 3rd party, paused temporarily.
  • Ensure close alignment with local teams, making sure to upload & improve GS1 data as required by the newest data models.
  • Support the annual environmental data collection for NL Eco tax declaration.

4. Training & Compliance

  • Identify local key stakeholders and ensure spreading of ways of working, GS1 and internal data policies, procedures, and templates.
  • Support Masterdata Manager & BEST during internal audits and in between, making sure internal control processes covers well the current BNL setup, and improve on identified issues in the MD areas.

Your Profile

  • Education: Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in Master Data, Supply Chain, or Project Management. Familiarity with "Shared Services" model is a significant plus.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of SAP (as a coordinator/super-user and analyst rather than for data entry).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of GS1 standards and GDSN data synchronization is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strategic Connector: You can translate complex business needs into technical requirements for local & BEST teams.
  • Analytical Mindset: Capable of analyzing big data sets and performing root cause analysis.
  • Communication: Fluent in English (written and oral). Dutch and/or French skills at a professional level are a major asset.
  • Proactive & Multi-tasker: Ability to keep a "bird’s-eye view" on projects while maintaining attention to detail.
