About the role

We are looking for an experienced Business Controller to join the Region Europe controller network and take over the responsibility of Area Benelux, with the possibility to further extend geographical coverage in the future. The right candidate will also have additional responsibilities working across the Region and will report to the Regional Controller.

The Area Business Controller is responsible for managing and monitoring the financial performance of the Area, ensuring accurate business forecasting and reporting, and ensuring timely compliance with all statutory and legal requirements for Business Assurance legal entities. The role provides financial advice to management, supports operational and commercial processes, and collaborates cross-functionally to improve performance and governance. It also plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key tasks:

  • Manage and follow up on financial performances;
  • Manage the target setting and forecasting processes;
  • Reporting on business results;
  • Advise and provide assistance to the line management in the area of finance, and work closely with other departments in a supporting and advisory capacity (e.g. operations and sales);
  • Actively monitor and analyze management data from the production systems to ensure the quality of data and support the local management team to improve performance and processes;
  • Frequent review of balance sheet items, especially related to accounts receivable, WIP, and accruals, bank balances and understand trends and take corrective actions where necessary;
  • Monitor and assess key performance parameters via periodic analysis of the unit goals, benchmark monitoring, performance indicators, project profitability analysis, and internal audits/reviews;
  • Provides support to HR in calculations of Sales Incentives;
  • Follow up with GSS Finance to ensure timely statutory and other legal compliances related to the Business Assurance legal entities and ensure that group and BA governance principles with regard to financial management are applied and adequately implemented;
  • Play a role in the commercial processes, including pricing, tender, and potentially contract review.

About you

Position Qualifications

  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles and procedures;
  • Experience in controllership, financial management, and analysis;
  • Strong tools skills (Eg, NGF/NGPS, Oracle, Basware, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles;
  • Experience in working cross-border is preferable but not a prerequisite.

  • Successful candidates should have a commercial and solution-oriented mindset and a pragmatic approach;
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills;
  • Systematic;
  • Analytical skills;
  • Proactive attitude;
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken);
  • Fluency in Dutch and/or other European languages will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure (closings, forecasts, etc.)
