Seed Staff was founded in 2011 by the promoters behind Beach Break Live. The festival had been running it’s own successful volunteer programme which provided a platform for Students and other people who were passionate about events a gateway to the events industry, Allowing them to work in a fun environment, meet new people and build valuable skills and experience that would help them later on in their career.
Throughout this project it became apparent that many events had the need for passionate, motivated well presented volunteers so Seed quickly built up a portfolio of Festivals including Nass, Boardmasters, Lounge on the farm, Freeze Festival and Hop farm. We also added sporting events to the portfolio with Sportsvision events during this year.

By 2012 as well as the Volunteer festival roles Seed were offering paid supervisory roles to help us provide more volunteers and manage the teams efficiently.

In 2013 Seed employed Sam full time with the brief to find new opportunities for Seed. During this period the company was able to build on the success of its Olympics work with Big Green Coach for CSP. Over the next few years we were able to use our experience in event stewarding develop partnerships with a number of security providers working on events such as Ride 100, Virgin London Marathon, Lewes Bonfire, Bupa 10k and many more providing regular teams to support high profile events during their peaks.

In 2015 Seed added the Count of Ten events to it’s portfolio looking after accreditation for Truck, Y Not, Brownstock and Hevy. New events also included European Ski Festival Horizon and a growing number of Bar, Stewarding and Accreditation opportunities for our staff both in London and across the UK. In London we continued to work with Five Star Catering with one of the many highlights watching Sir Bradley Wiggins at Lee Valley break cyclings one hour challenge at the Velodrome.

2016 saw the company grow significantly working with Creative Events in a bigger way than ever before at events ranging from Boardmasters and Victorious Festivals to Christmas at Kew and Brighton Pride. We also welcomed some new festivals to our summer calendar including ‘Lets Rock’, Parklife, Boundary Festival and Garage Nation. Our established favourites also saw a boost with our biggest team yet working at Festival Number Six and an increase in events at Lee Valley for Five Star Catering including 6 Day, Revolution Cycling and the Hockey Championships.

In 2017 we have an exciting year as our team grows and we build on our existing relationships and welcome in some new ones!

2016 was a fantastic year for us, it was challenging but it was fun and it will forever be known as the year we grew. That being said the growing pains were a little bit insane, it wasn't all sunshine and roses and there were many long days of hard work behind the scenes with an unrelenting mountain of staffing to tackle, but our stellar team rose to the challenge and smashed it each and every week. To each and everyone of you who worked with us this year in particular we thank you, it wouldn't have been as amazing without you.

Festival number six was a major event for us, more than 300 of you joined us in that field and everyone survived despite the lovely Welsh winds trying to blow us from staff camping after flooding our tents, even though we had that horrendous weather we are so pleased that many of you came away with fantastic memories, eager to sign up next year. The last couple of years it's been easy to focus on how big FN6 is for us but this year was different, that 300 strong team we had was not just a September story. This was a regular occurrence for our staffing teams to coordinate 100s of staff across the UK in many different roles, but the Bar/Concessions Staff were the ones pulling it out of the bag week in week out at prestigious events and muddy festivals across the country. Our events calendar more than doubled from previous years meaning we got to work with a lot more of our seedlings!

Here you are probably expecting a list of the skills you need before applying with us? Qualifications that are desired? A description of our perfect candidate? Well get yourself a mirror and tell us what you see..... that's right you! You are a perfect candidate, how we know? You are reading this post aren't you? That's either because you are an individual interested in becoming a Seeding or a spy!
(Or you're already a Seedling and you're just enjoying the new website!)

We are an a equal opportunities employer, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to be a part of the team, all we ask is for in return is commitment to the role and a can do attitude on site, the rest will come. We provide training opportunities for all our staff and we will always have someone on site or on the end of the phone - we're cool you can text us. Of course we have roles that we need people with certain skills but those skills are generally developed through working with us, we're not suggesting you should jump straight in and apply to be a team leader when you've never worked before but join our large teams at awesome events across the UK to get yourself to that standard.

Event Management students are perfect fits with us, whether you're in first year or a graduate compliment your studies by working on the ground at events and peeking into our offices from time to time. We often get asked about placements, and truth is, we can't promise you the hours you require for a standard placement however as long as you are willing to travel for work and get stuck into different roles there is the possibility of you completing your placement with us... the ball will be in your court, but we will support you!

What it takes to supervise our Seedlings?
We need a bunch of team leaders across the UK to work in perfect harmony with us, this is a very varied role which one weekend could mean you're out of bed at the crack of dawn in charge of a team of stewards keeping road closures in place at a sporting event, followed by a weekend of coordinating up to 100 staff working bars until the early hours at a music festival. Seed team leaders are expected to be versatile working across many roles managing new teams of staff at different events. If this sounds right up your street you will need to be interviewed and trained before the summer kicks off!

The main roles we offer:
- Stewarding At top events and festivals across the UK be a major part of the front-line festival team ensuring the public know whats going on and where they need to go!
- Bar work Fast paced fun work in the heart of major events and festivals, a great experience and you'll generally get to hear some great live music/acts while being paid! Bonus!
- Hospitality and Catering work Exciting opportunities to be in the heart of major sporting events and festivals alike, across London and beyond, join the teams of people serving top notch food and drink with a smile while soaking up the atmosphere of fans supporting their idols
- Accreditation The process of making sure people get into events starts as soon as the tickets go on sale and ends on-site when a bunch of wonderful people check tickets and issue relevant accreditation - A fun role dealing with excitable customers who can't wait to get into that venue!
- Volunteering At Various festivals across the UK get yourself a ticket in exchange for your time! These opportunities vary but will always give you enough time to enjoy the festival
- Big Green coach reps Voluntary Rep coaches and/or help on the ground onsite, work before and after the festival in order to bag yourself a free ticket to enjoy yourself at the event!
