Meet the Team You Will Be Working With

We're Mark and Jo - the co-founders of HOWND. We are great mates, and our families met while on holiday 12 years ago. We are both mad about animals especially our own dogs, and pretty creative and hardworking. We run the company together but Mark is definitely the number cruncher and negotiator in the business and Jo is the wordy one who handles PR and marketing.

We founded the company in 2013 and the brand has always appeared much bigger than a start-up. Our product innovations, distinctive branding, and distruptive marketing initiatives ensure we blaze a trail ahead of the competition.

We have recently designed our first innovative acccssory, and looking for the right Intern to help us launch a Crowdfunding campaign. It's only the two of us and our dogs (Roxy and Laila) in the business for now, so you will be joining a small, dynamic, flexible team with a challenging project to grow your portfolio.

You will be able to join us in our office in Borehamwood near Mill Hill, or in a cool office hub in Angel, Central London.

With only two people in the office, things are always busy, and no two days are the same - as the old saying goes. Running a small business is exciting , and the ultimate success of the business comes from surrounding ourselves with excellent people who we enjoy working with.

The heart of our business is based on ethically sourced natural ingredients and our product range will always be focused on health and wellness for pets. We are only at the beginning of our journey and we feel confident that the next few years will be both challenging and rewarding for all involved.

    Welcome on board!

  4. Beyond dog grooming: 'When Harry Met Hero' Viral Video

Our first Social Media Brand Film launched in December 2016 on Facebook, and amassed millions of views, shares, and engagements in the first month alone. The film tells the story of a boy and a dog he rescued growing up together.

#WhenHarryMetHero was made to promote the adoption of rescue dogs and raise awareness of the #AdoptDontShop campaign against puppy farming. Words sometimes fall short of describing the connection we have with rescue dogs, but Harry and Hero represent this idea perfectly on-screen. To demonstrate our support for rescue dog adoption, we pledge to donate 50p from every online sale to the charity All Dogs Matter.

  5. National Bring Your Dog to Work Day

We dreamed up the initiative in 2014, when an office move meant that we were only able to bring our dogs to work for one day of the year. Spotting an opportunity to raise money for charity, and truly believing in the benefits of having dogs in the workplace, we launched the concept nationally. The nation has embraced ‘Bring Your Dog to Work
Day’ from the outset and today - five years on - thousands of businesses around the country are taking part in the best day out for dogs.

On Friday June 23rd 2017, thousands of companies and social media pages from a host of industries pledged their support for Bring Your Dog To Work Day, resulting in the hashtag trending at #1 on Twitter yet again! This included regional police forces, fire brigade teams, hotel chains and recruitment agencies - as well as household names such as The Trainline, Miele, Vets4Pets, Henry Schein, PrivateFly, Xbox UK, The Grand Tour, Shrek the Musical,
Coronation Street, Tennis TV, comedian Ricky Gervais and many more.

Bring Your Dog to Work Day is set for Friday June 22nd 2018, and we will need an intern for this too!
