No detailed career plan, but a match that felt right: how Anne found her first job through Magnet.me
Reading time: 4 minutes
Not everyone graduates with a clear career path in mind. And that’s completely okay. For Anne, junior consultant at doen'r, real success wasn’t finding a “dream job”, but a place that gave her the space to discover herself and her interests. She didn’t yet know which direction she wanted to go in, but through Magnet.me she found doen’r and it immediately felt like the right step.
The job search without stress
“I had no idea which direction I wanted to go”
When Anne graduated, she had no clue what her next step would be. “That made looking for a job really overwhelming,” she says.
With thousands of vacancies online, it felt like she was drowning in options, until she discovered Magnet.me. “You only see one vacancy at a time, no endless lists. That brought peace of mind.”
Swiping through relevant jobs based on her profile made the process clear and manageable. “If something appealed to me, I clicked through. If not, I just moved on. Simple and effective.”
Finding a match without having all the answers
Through Magnet.me, Anne received a message from a recruiter at doen’r. The click was there right away, with a video call, an office meeting, and most of all: a relaxed atmosphere. “It didn’t feel like a formal job interview at all. Everyone was young, open and easygoing.”
For Anne, it wasn’t about a fancy job title, but about the feeling. “I still don’t know exactly what I want. What matters now is a great work environment, fun colleagues, and the space to figure things out.”
At doen’r, that’s exactly what she found and what’s encouraged. “I even have an onboarding manager who helps me think about my next step.”
Growing at your own pace
Even though Anne just started, she’s already working on her development. “I’ve started e-learnings to prepare for client projects. That helps me begin with confidence.”
doen’r offers plenty of training and support. “For me, personal growth is the most important thing right now. I want to find out what I enjoy, not be locked into a career path right away.”
From doubt to a sense of belonging
Anne started at doen’r with seven other new hires. The connection was immediate. “On day one we already had a group chat. We have lunch together, check who’s going to the office, it’s really fun.”
There’s also room for connection outside of work. “In my first week there was already a get-together, and I’ve already signed up for the ski trip. It’s super social here.”
That warm welcome made doen’r feel like the right place, even though she’s still figuring out what her future will look like.
Anne’s advice for other graduates: “You don’t have to have it all figured out yet”
For anyone who’s still unsure about their first career step, Anne has one reassuring message: “Your first job doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s okay to still be figuring things out.”
She knows what it feels like to compare yourself to people who seem to already know. “That was stressful at times. But now I realise: figuring things out step by step is completely valid too.”
