Job Description

As Global Category Development Manager, you will shape how JDE Peet’s wins the coffee category globally. Sitting within the Global Sales team, this role drives the global category vision by turning consumer, shopper, and market insights into scalable strategies, frameworks, and playbooks. You will partner closely with global and local stakeholders to enable consistent, value-creating category growth across markets. Acting as a category thought leader, you will elevate customer conversations from short-term negotiations to long-term strategic partnerships. This role balances brand ambition, commercial performance, and market execution at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the global coffee category vision and long-term growth roadmap in line with brand and value creation strategy
  • Act as the global category expert for international customers, shaping strategic selling narratives and long-term category growth plans
  • Translate consumer, shopper, and performance insights into clear category opportunities and actionable recommendations
  • Develop and deploy global category management frameworks and playbooks (e.g. Master Stock List, channel strategies)
  • Enable and challenge local markets with strategic guidance, best practices, and hands-on support for priority initiatives
  • Influence cross-functionally across Marketing, RGM, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Innovation to embed category thinking end-to-end

Qualifications

Working at JDE Peet’s is hands-on, fast-paced, and impact-driven. For this role as Global Category Development Manager, we’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Strong commercial foundation (typically 8+ years) in Sales, Shopper Marketing, and/or Marketing
  • Experience working in global or multi-market environments with diverse retail dynamics
  • Proven strategic thinking skills, able to translate long-term vision into practical execution
  • Data-literate and analytical, with the ability to turn complex insights into compelling category stories
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including partnership with senior leaders and international customers
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with curiosity to explore new tools, insights, and ways of working
