Make AI work for every engineer

By transforming how 900+ engineers work with AI—one tool, integration, and workflow improvement at a time. As an AI Tool Enablement Engineer in the AI Way of Working team, you help define how bol engineers adopt and benefit from AI‑powered tools. You ensure that solutions are secure, reliable, well‑integrated, and—most importantly—actually used.

When engineers write better code faster, debug more efficiently, and automate repetitive tasks, the impact compounds: more reliable systems, faster innovation, and better experiences for tens of thousands of partners and millions of customers.

The biggest challenge

Making AI adoption stick in a fast‑changing environment.

Providing shiny tools isn’t enough. You’ll foster trust, guide teams through emerging best practices, and balance innovation speed with bol’s high standards for security, compliance, and architectural integrity.

You operate in a domain where technology, policies, and expectations shift quickly. This requires curiosity, flexibility, and a mindset focused on establishing structure where there currently is none.

What you'll do as Platform Engineer – AI Way of Working

You’ll help make AI practical, secure, and widely adopted across bol’s engineering community. Working at the intersection of platform engineering, security, and developer experience, you will:

  • Integrate and optimize AI tools (code assistants, MCPs) within developer workflows
  • Design and maintain system integrations, ensuring they align with bol’s architecture and GCP infrastructure
  • Embed security and compliance, translating requirements into actionable solutions
  • Enable engineers through guidelines, demos, workshops, and hands‑on support
  • Measure adoption and impact to improve workflows and inform priorities
  • Collaborate across teams (e.g., security, office automation) to unblock adoption
  • Shape emerging practices in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment, helping establish structure as the domain evolves

Why you can make a difference

You have strong software engineering fundamentals (Python, Java, or similar) and understand how systems fit together—from GCP infrastructure to developer tooling. You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re genuinely enthusiastic about the possibilities of AI, coding agents, and MCPs.

What sets you apart:

  • You think in systems, not isolated components
  • You’re comfortable operating without complete structure—and helping create it
  • You enjoy enabling others more than owning a single product domain
  • You’re customer‑centric and always ask: “Does this help engineers succeed?”
  • You can sense when security, reliability, or architecture concerns require deeper investigation
  • You are flexible, adaptive, and energized by a field that evolves monthly

Experience with MCPs, GCP Infra, system integration, or developer‑facing platform engineering is a plus.

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

  • Backstage builder If you prefer long, isolated implementation tracks and minimal interaction, this may not suit you.
  • Compliance is rather complicated You view security reviews and data protection requirements as obstacles instead of enablers.
  • Rigid process follower If you need tightly defined processes before you can move, this environment will feel uncomfortable.
  • Enthusiastic enabler You measure success by how many colleagues you help be more effective—not by lines of code.
  • Trusted translator You explain complex AI and integration concepts clearly, and you collaborate well with security, infra, and product teams.
  • Community spark You thrive in environments with rapid change, ambiguity, and emerging standards.

Where you'll work

You’ll join the AI Way of Working team, part of our AI Enablement & Tech Community. This team shapes how bol’s engineering community adopts and benefits from AI—not by issuing mandates, but through inspiration, tooling, and practical support. You’ll have ample freedom to experiment, learn, and share insights with a vibrant tech community.
