As a Senior Electrical Architect, you will work in a multi-disciplinary project team of highly skilled technical experts from both Philips Innovation Engineering and our customers.

You will be responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, testing and integration of the electrical part of the equipment in the medical equipment domain. Key aspects in complex mechatronic equipment are advanced motion control, accurate measurements, electrical drive systems and electrical infrastructure.

Your role:

  • Electrical architecture of medical products and systems, serving as the electrical team lead within specific multidisciplinary projects
  • Specification, design, and documentation of electrical systems requirements for medical equipment mechatronic systems
  • Competence leadership of the MMS electrical designers team
  • Safety Officer role within the MMS CE marking team, coordinating the team both content-wise and process-wise
  • Work in an environment where electrical guidelines for healthcare equipment such as IEC-60601 and ISO 13485 are used

You are a part of:
The Mechatronics & Manufacturing Systems department of Philips Innovation Engineering, responsible for specification, design, and realization of high-end mechatronic solutions and customized test equipment. Within this department, the group Electrical Design, Control SW, and Vision is responsible for the electrical design and for the motion & machine software control of these equipment and products.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • You have at least 15 years of work experience, preferably 10 years in a high-tech environment
  • You possess profound knowledge of motion control solutions and electrical drive train technology
  • You are able to make a work breakdown and planning for the electrical team in the project
  • You can steer and supervise detailed design of the electrical part of products and systems
  • You have proven experience in at least one of the following domains: medical equipment, industrial automation, or high precision mechatronics as a senior electrical designer or electrical team lead
  • You have demonstrated technological leadership and competence steering experience
  • You have experience with CE, EMC, and UL regulations, and specifically with regulations for developing medical devices and equipment. Evidence of a Safety Officer role regarding the CE marking process is an advantage
  • You are experienced in working according to the V model in defining requirements, test specifications, supervising execution of the tests, and reporting the test results
  • You are a proven team player and able to lead a team of electrical engineers in a multidisciplinary project
  • You have a customer-centric attitude
  • You are willing to work at the customer location and undertake occasional international travel

For this position we will not provide relocation and will only consider candidates already based in The Netherlands.
